Ok...here is another heads up. I emailed tamara at her gwtamara email addy on littleonefb's (Frans) behalf and asked that she reply to both me and Fran about what might be going on. Here is her reply: I'm not sure why this is still happening, but our tech team is working on isolating the problem. At this point, all I can do is just unblock you when it happens. I know it's frustrating and I hope they are able to resolve it shortly. Fran, I didn't receive any mail from you to this address -- but, I"m regularly checking the blocks and if your name is there, I'll just automatically unblock it. Thanks for hanging in there. Tamara Soooo...in conclusion...good to know that they are working on it. good to know that Tamara is checking the 'blocked members' and will automatically unblock it if/when it happens again not so good to know...gwtamara did not get Frans emails.hmmm So where might they have gone. Also keep checking if you may have been unblocked, because as west_texas_peg said, she did not receive notification that she should be back up and running. Suggestion...like I said above, first email gwtamara, and if the block is not unblocked in what you consider a reasonable amount of time, then email a GW friend (hopefully you will have/know/be able to locate a member friend's addy) and ask that they email gwtamara on your behalf. Since I am the proclaimed resident busy body here, anyone can feel free to email me and have me try and email/report it again on your behalf....if all else seems to have failed. Hi Tamara, Sorry for lack of clarity re: names. Put me in the 'slightly paranoid' - I prefer the term 'careful' - re: ID theft, pile. Yes, so far, every one has used only membernames on this new forum you're a-borning today, nothing you missed. Will we continue to be as careful? My concern is not so much about using a self-acknowledged first name (chemocurl regularly signs herself as Sue, etc.) More that I've seen occasions on other GW forums when someone who seems to guard their 'real' name has been addressed by it, gleaned from a trade snail-mail addy. Hoping we can protect their privacy *before* a lapse. Clearer? Mud? If latter, we can persue once this baby is launched. No abuses so far; sure you're busy. Thanks for your good work.

Yeah Tamara, post more. Would be nice to get to know you. My bet is you aren't as uninteresting as you think you are! And bestlawn, while your daughter is there have her take YOUR picture cause we have never seen you. We need to be sure you don't have two heads or something! LOL Seriously, in all the pictures posts you have never posted yours, it would be nice to put a picture to the name! So we'll be expecting to see your desk and your face.

Buehl, The message you are seeing at the bottom of the email (PLEASE NOTE: The member responding to your post has chosen not to reveal his or her email address. Therefore, you cannot reply to this message via email) only means that you are not able to respond by clicking Reply within your email account (gmail, yahoo, outlook, hotmail, etc, etc). However, there is a way to send them a response ... go to their 'My Page' and respond to them from there. You do not have to respond via your email account. If they are set up to be able to receive email, you can respond to them from their My Page the same way they emailed you (they went to your My Page). NOTE however, if they do not have their account set up to receive emails as in your instructions above, you will not be able to reply to them from their My Page either. Finding a member 'My Page' ... http://members.gardenweb.com/members/search.cgi I believe it IS upper or lower case sensitive Using your instructions above, you also have the choice to have your email address revealed or not revealed in your settings on that same page (show my email address to: none). I have mine set up for 'none' and I see that you have your account set up this way as well which I think is smart . . . . I noticed something that made me change my settings ... When you email someone, if they have their email revealed, GW will automatically show you the person's email address. Just in case any spammers ever come trying to harvest email addresses, I thought it would be a good idea to change my settings. Because I use my real, work email address in GW, not a fake throwaway address. Click the first link below and you will see an example of how you can see that person's email address. Typically, when I send a private message to someone using GW, I include my email address in the body of the message, so they can respond without having to search me out using My Page. But I can still keep my email address private within my gardenweb settings. This way it makes it easier for the person I am messaging. I can choose to send/receive emails and neither of us has to unblock our email address. I have sent a suggestion asking GW to make this message that appears at the bottom of the email more clear, because it is very confusing how they have it worded. It makes it sound like you cannot respond at all to the person emailing you. You can send a suggestion too ...
