Comments (20)My Mom learned to type in her late 50's, you can do it!! I downloaded an interactive teaching thing on her computer which she played with periodically for a couple weeks, and she can get along on the keyboard pretty well now. She emails her friends a lot, so must be doing it fast enough that it's not frustrating her (like a friend of mine from HS who sees me on FB and calls because she can't even respond to everything I can type. She calls, cussing me out right away, hilarious!) They also have 'talk to text' software. That might work for you (but still creeps me out, reminds me of Tommyknockers by Stephen King!) So how long have you had that Pothos? As far as potted ones go, those are some of the biggest leaves I've seen. Has it always been dangling? It looks like the biggest leaves are near where the stem emerges from the soil?...See MoreForum Picture
Comments (18)yep - this argument regarding the exception the Austins seem to have in the OGR category already surfaces periodically (and I agree that they are no more antique than any of the other modern shrubs such as Romanticas, Rennaissance, Generosa and so on.....and I simply think that using it as the defining image for this forum is just not on - so yeah, hope you are still taking notice, Tamara - another unhappy poster here (with apols to Sidos-house)....See MoreSmall Old Garden Roses for Small Gardens

I accept spraying because just about every plant I have (zinnias, vegetables, etc) have to be sprayed to reduce the pests and diseases. This Fall I might experiment with putting organic banana peels and cleaned eggshells (with a little cinnamon to deter ants) in the pots to see if the thin leaves will become thicker....See MoreSacramento Old Cemetery Historic Rose Garden - Open Garden
Comments (2)I went to the Sacramento Cemetery for the first time on Saturday. The tour given by Barbara was great and the roses were breathtaking. I think I need a return trip to see roses I misses. We also wandered down to the perennial gardens. Such a joy. Thanks for bringing the open garden to our attention. BettyN...See Morefogrose
