? Re: 'Checking File System on C:'

This is the order of what happened just prior to getting the below message. When I first went on line (or tried to) this morning, I had lost my Internet, which happens occasionally. I just turn off from the tower and it comes back and is fine. This time when the screen came up there was this message. Never have seen it before and I thought I had killed my PC. The loss of the Internet may or may not have been coincidental.

Checking File System in C:

The type of the file system is NTFS.

Value label is HP_Pavilion.

One of your Disks needs to checked for consistency,

You may cancel the Disk Check but it is strongly recommended that you continue. Windows will check the Disk.

Check Disk is verifying files (stage 1 of 3)

File verification completed.

Check Disk is verifying index (stage 2 of 3)

(a number here which I missed copying) completed.

Deleting index entry Backup $130 of the file.

Bookmarks Cookies Text Lists with $130 after each one.

(Things here that I can't read my own scratching)

Orphans. (lots).

Removing (or recovering?) Orphans.

At this point it was all rolling down the screen so fast I couldn't keep up with it. It finished and has been fine since then.

What was that all about?

HP Media Center XPSP2

TIA

Sue
