We have a black lab who enjoys perfuming herself with various scents. None of which are appealing to a human. When the stench isn't bath worthy, but definatly stinky, I use between-baths doggie wipes. I think I got them at Target, but I know there are many on the market. As I am typing this, I wonder if you could just pick up some lavender scented baby wipes for less money. I may do just that for when we run out of our coconut-calyso scented wipes for Indi.

There are several brands of no-rinse shampoo that you can spray into the coat and then rub with a towel to remove the offending odor without having to totally wet down and rinse the dog. I can't remember the brand name of the one we used at dog shows but it's purple in color. There are other brands that you can probably pick up at a local pet supply store. It's appropriate for use on the entire animal or as a spot cleaner.

Linda, if you have a farm supply store near you, like Farm and Fleet, check the equine product area and look for Cowboy Magic proudcts. They should have a no rinse/waterless shampoo and their detangler product smells fantastic.

Or you could try corn starch sprinkled into her coat and them brushed out, but it can be messy...fur and powder all over after brushing. And cholrophyl tablets from the vitinam/health food store may help. Pop about 3 per day into her.

Or you could just call the groomer and surprise your daughter with a nice clean pooch....

I am afraid that a trip to a new groomer would further stress her out. I'll make a trip to Tractor Supply after church and see what I can find.
She's happiest outside, and the weather has been good....but I don't like to leave her out unless I am where I can easily glance out and see her, and certainly when I am away from home, but she loves to lie on the deck and watch the birds and the squirrels.....and she's not eating....well not much.....she slurped up Chabby's breakfast yesterday with one lap....but only ate less than 1/2 of her own dinner. She can stand to lose about 15 pounds....but not on my watch!

I bought something called "out"....small spray bottle of scented antibacterial dog "de-scenter".
She loved being sprayed.....she's outside now, so I can't tell how much it helped.
the guy at Tractor supply, who is a "golden man" suggested Lysol or Fabreeze. But he also suggested that it's bacteria in the skin oils that is making ehr stink....so anything that would kill some of that bacteria would help.
Any how, we'll see...

I second the Cowboy Magic stuff, it's for horses but works nicely on dogs. WW used to just love to roll in anything stinky so it seemed like I was constantly sticking him in the bathtub.

Of course, he loved it and would jump into the shower with Ashley whenever he got a chance, so baths weren't a problem for him. I used the Cowboy Magic on Copenhagen, not on WW.

They didn't have Cowboy Magic at Tractor supply.......and the Out has not solved the problem....but it helped....
We'll do more tomorrow....and maybe a bit of Lysol to be sure
No....she hasn't rolled in anything...it's just that doggie smell...
