Down load pics from cell phone to PC

I have a Motorola RAZR V3M cell phone and am trying to download very sentimental pictures of my first great-grand child to my computer.

my computer is HP Pavillion, Vista 64, FF and IE

I wonder if anyone knows of a free, or inexpensive program that I can use to do the download. I tried to do the download from information I found after doing a google search, but I can't get the program to download right.

can't you send it to your computer like you would any text message. Just put in your email address. I do this with verizon.

Does that make sense? Yes and no. Hole in back of drawer; outlet in wall. Okay... open drawer, put phone and charger in drawer, plug charger's cord into outlet (huh? you squiggle the charger's cord through a hole to the outlet?), and then close drawer? No no, that can't be right. Ah... all the recharging cords already run through the hole to the outlet so you just reach into the drawer and grab the right recharger and plug into your phone? Okay that sounds good... but where are those cords when the drawer is being opened and closed? (I'm seeing them squished between the drawer back and the outlet, or else being pulled back and forth through the hole.) And is it okay to leave the plugged-in charger sitting in the drawer unused [but "hot"] while the phone is in your pocket? I guess I'm missing something obvious... please pass the caffeine....

Tracfone. Have had several different prepaid phones. I had Virgin and when you got reception it was the best of any I've used. But their service is the Sprint PCS and that's not very widespread coverage. Worked well for me for over a year though because when I'd travel I usually used major highways and PCS is on there. But I wanted better coverage so I got Beyond Wireless until they changed to GSM only then I went with Tracfone. Few different phones with them (cheaper than buying cards) and settled on an LG 3280 flip phone that I really like. Excellent coverage and for about $3-$8/mo, it's stupid to not have a cell for traveling and even going out for the mail in the winter! A lot of people would be far better off getting prepaid over contract phones. But there's a snob appeal and people look down their noses at prepaid phones and users. I look at cost. Why should I pay $60-$100 a month for something that a few dollars a month does just as well? But I have different priorities. A phone is not a status symbol for me. I want it to do the job, and this does. I'm very happy with it.

Unlimited is fine if you live on the phone. I have other things going on in my life so a phone is a tool, not a lifestyle for me. If you don't use it much, the prepaid is the way to go and you can easily go less than $10/mo. I don't look at the per-minute cost since to me, per month is what you're really paying. Actually, per year since I buy over a year's worth at a time. My cell use has now cut way down from before so the "per minute" rate is higher since I buy less but still when I look at per month it's cheap enough. I can't see not having one for $5-$7 a month. Joan_mn mentions a point that I always try to stress. With prepaid phones you need to check coverage areas. I have a CDMA which I wanted since it's better coverage in MN than AT&T, T-mo and Sprint's prepaid. My Tracfone cost me less than $7/mo last time I added. I didn't even do much searching for a deal. I've gotten time for as little as $2/mo when I worked the specials. This time I needed to add time quickly so just added some minutes and added extra months since I don't use it too much. I average about 30-35 min/mo use these days.

I misplace my TV remote enough that I don't want to be looking for my one and only phone. I have a 10 room two story house and wouldn't even hear the phone unless it was strapped on my body. I have three phones downstairs and they are always on their stands when not in use. The cell is in the car because I always forgot to bring it in the house. It's not a smart phone,( we opted for an iPad instead) just a flip top Samsung and we 're not on a program. We "buy" minutes every year and it's pretty cheap. Our phones are part of our Verizon bundle... My son has only a cell phone, no land lines and kept his old number.

agree just use your phone to email it to your regular email address then save to pc from the email.

Thanks all for your replies.

your suggestion would work but unfortunately I cannot get a cell phone signal at my house, we are in a river valley. I could do the sending pix to my email if i'm on the road but that wouldn't be very practical.

Through the links that Zep supplied I did get a Motorola driver installation program to download but when I hooked up the cell phone via the usb cable it would not open the program. The info I found says that the phone may have a wrong "mode" set and needs to be reset. I searched the instruction manual and tried to find setting of that type on the phone but it was a no go.

Again, using the links that Zep suggested I did find the tool program I need for $9.99 on Amazon. I went ahead and ordered it, hopefully that will do the trick.
