Hi jjags! My diverter was purchased at Home Depot for approximately 20.00. Works fine so far, I have no problems with it. To work I reach up to the showerhead and pull up for the handheld, the push it back down for the fixed head. Definately not fancy, but it suits my purpose. I am happy with the position of my slide bar, BUT I do not shower under it! It merely holds the handheld when I am not using it to rinse my hair or clean the shower walls. Charlikin, if you have the Hansgrohe with diverter, you won't be able to use the wall mount and handheld at the same time. If you want to use both simultaneously, you will need two valves. I have the Hansgrohe Retroaktive on a slider bar for my childrens' baths. I really like it. I also like using the handheld to clean the shower itself. If you have a standard 30" shower/tub, it fits better on the wall to just use the bar. My three kids never tried to climb the bar. One advantage of the bar over the hook is that you can adjust it as the kids grow. I can't come up with any advantages that the wall mount has over the handheld on a wall bar (unless you don't like the look of the wall bar). In my master shower at my old house, I only had a Grohe thermostatic valve with a handheld on a shower bar. No wall mount shower head there either. I never missed it. I would much prefer just having a handheld on a bar to just having the wall mount.

Wishenwell, we didn't see a need for a diverter. We've got the hot and cold supplies going to the thermostatic valve, then there are two outputs from there- one goes to a volume control for the rainshower, and one goes to a volume control for the Movario handheld. With that arrangement, we can independently run both showerheads, plus have independent volume control over each. The only thing we can't do is independently set different temperatures, which isn't much of a loss. The diverter systems get pretty complicated if you need to plumb anything other than "one or the other". The other benefit of having the two volume valves, was that it came out less expensive. :-) Hope that helps.

Yay! I'm glad you decided to go with what your heart wanted...orb :) I have (what looks to be the same setup). Not sure that the difference is between yours and my Delta Linden In2ition. The two shower heads (one handheld) snap into each other. Both can be used together or independently. The handheld has multiple settings. The stationary shower-head as a couple of settings but I've not messed with that yet. One main reason I bought this one is that you can operate/adjust the water temp independently from the water on/off/pressure. If you know what temp you like your water, you can set it and forget it. If you could find a waterproof (maybe stick on) "hook" of some sort to hang the handheld on at a lower position for the kiddos, that would be great :) And don't worry about the finish. If something does go wonky with it, Delta has a lifetime warranty on the finish.
