Recommendations on a non-high end hand-held shower
Comments (5)Delta makes a combination handheld & fixed mount shower head. I bought this after my previous handheld once again wiggled it's way out of it's fitting, came crashing down and smacked me in the head in the middle of shampooing my hair. I absolutely love this Delta combo shower head. You get the best of both worlds. You have the ability to have both the handheld & fixed mount going at the same time (even when you've got the handheld in your hand)or just one or the other--your choice. Plus you have the massage feature option. I will be putting one of these in the new house too. Comments (8)Just a word of warning on Moen slider bar fixtures...their chrome fixtures the pieces that hold the bar in place are plastic. I made the huge mistake in building of picking out a book and not putting my eyes and hands on the actual fixtures. Not until they were installed and we were moving in (we built from 1300 miles away) that we discovered they were plastic. There was really nothing we could do at that point without changing all the other fixtures in that bathroom, so we sucked it up and lived with it. That is until about two weeks ago in one of the showers the plastic on the bottom failed and the bar fell out of the sleeve! I called Moen and even though it's been over 2 years since purchase they sent a complete replacement. They have completely redesigned the shower bar and while the pieces are still plastic the design is much better and much more sturdy. They have great customer service, their phone system is great. If a CS rep is unavailable you record your number and they give you a time frame in which they will call you back. It's so much better than being on hold forever. Probably way more info than you wanted, but wanted you to be aware....See MoreWhat is a good length for a handheld shower slide bar?
Comments (3)We have a Hansgrohe bar in each of our kids' bathrooms. One is in a shower /bathtub combo and one is in a shower. We don't have a wall mount shower head in either. Both wall bars are about 25" long and are mounted with the bottom about 52" off of the floor. Works fine for 6 year old daughter and 5'11" tall husband. Can't say if it is "best", but it is fine for us....See MoreHandheld shower on slide bar - can you mix and match components?
Comments (4)Well for future reference in case anyone ever ends up searching this topic in the future, I did call Kohler today and they did tell me that they use custom hose threads on the wall elbow that only fit their hoses and not those of other manufacturers. It might just be a Kohler thing, as Delta told me their hoses should fit any outlet or showerhead. But it sounds like the faucet guy was right....See Moresusan631
