San could use some good thoughts

I posted over on Discussions but I don't know how long my "clink" to her Dad will stay there.

San's had a lot going on lately, not the least of which were health issues with her elderly father. He was 92 and passed away yesterday. As San told me, he "did things his own way and in his own time".

I'm sending all the good, strong, peaceful and healing thoughts I can to San, Ted and their family. Somehow I know that her Dad and mine are talking together about the wonderful men that they left their daughters safely with!

Hugs to you, San, my friend. So, who will take my hand?

San, I am so so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. It must be so difficult for you. I know how much my 91 year old mom means to me and I can barely think of losing her.

Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. She may get out of the Critical Care Unit, and on to a regular floor, if they can find a room for her. They're bringing in a infectious disease doctor too, but the antibiotics seem to be doing the trick. She's on Leviquin (sp) which is one of the most powerful one out there (I think). Also, checking why her immune system is so low. This makes about the 3rd time this winter with pneumonia, for her. She never takes care of herself when shes sick, and lets it go to long. Long story, but she has her 2 grown sons living with her and her husband in a 1 bedroom, (plus a sm. computer room) apt. The oldest is to have hip replacement tomorrow around 1:00. He's been on steroids for a long time, and broke his hip jumping off a pickup at work. Sorry, getting off the topic here. Again, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. They are so appreciated. We have had 2 brick homes with structural problems. 1905 and 1919. Our current home has a flat roof addition. So, yes, an open area 12 ft above the ground. I live old homes. I would consult a structural engineer - not a mason yet, not a contractor. We learned our options from him. Knowledge is power. My advice today is pretty much what it was when you posted before. Your balconies and lower porches are part of the same structure...one that looks like it is sloping downhill on the left, just like 2012's picture. And, yes, I know what structural work costs. (((Gabby)))) My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours along with any others in "Ike's path". Just talked to our sister In Sugarland/Houston.... they had windows taped with mattresses up against them and had spent the day trimming tree branches. They were outside with most of their neighbors watching the sky. She mentioned tornados are a concern. I could hear the wind howling as we talked. I think this has convinced her to sell and move to Nevada!

awww poor baby.... they sure cast bones sooner than they used to... Glad they got it on quickly... Did they make it a special color for her? Perhaps dome bling will help - give her hugs and tell her how special she is with the cast on... Prayers for the mom to survive it all.

San, it doesn't matter at what age we lose them. 30 or 110, it is a painful thing to deal with. Someday we will all be reunited in a joy filled world devoid of pain. I truly believe that. He will always be your dad, and always be in your heart.
