Comments (54)I contacted a few sellers last week; one I was the high bidder but the reserve wasn't met. I wanted to buy the bag & told her what I'd be willing to pay.. she wished I'd contacted her sooner because she would have canceled the auction & sold it to me. What it ended up selling for was less then what I offered. I spoke to another seller who was very interested in selling me a bag; she needed to get merchandise sold. This one is on hold on my end. If she sells it to someone else, fine. The lady I bought that bag from, I was going to buy multiple bags; she had a lot of stock & IMO it would have been worth it because the bags I was going to buy didn't sell. Even if she paid cancellation fees; I was prepared to pay between $125 & $150 - as I said, I got it for $78. It worked to my advantage. Now if I could get the other seller that either sent me the wrong bag or listed the bag she sent wrong; that would make me happy. From what I see of her auctions; I think she listed the bag wrong - used wrong pic & description.. Emotionally with getting the wrong bag, plus losing the snake I really wanted because my browser hung.. I'm emotionally drained with ebay....See MoreHandbag afficionados: can you help with ID?
Comments (75)You are too funny. Here in our area I have not seen those under 18 carrying VB. It is hugely popular with the college crowd here though. I also have not seen those 65 and up carrying VB. I'll admit I haven't really looked, but it sure hasn't been something I've noticed. I know alot of the moms (which is probably the 25-40ish age group) like VB and have the diaper bags. Her cross body bags are popular here. And in our nearby touristy area, there is a VB outlet. I've also noticed alot of VB (discounted) at a local Steinmart. I bought a friend a VB bag for Christmas - and she is 57, although looks much younger but the VB bag looks good on her. I like some of the black with bright prints because I wear alot of black and brights, but I also wear a good many prints/patterns, so the bags often clash with my clothing. I like the VB laptop bags too....See MoreAnyone want to help sleuth out a handbag?
Comments (8)crl I'm not sure there is much quality to the one I posted! It appears to me to be something like a canvas or maybe even felted material and the 'leather' could be anything. I'm going to be right by Old Navy tomorrow - will check that out - thanks. mtn I did search whip stitch but in conjunction with other parameters. Those bags are beautiful although the tassel is a bit much on the white one! sue the bags at Sundance are gorgeous as always - and the exact amount I don't want to spend ;-) We have a trip to the outer banks coming up with friends and this looks like it would be a good tote for that trip - I always seem to be the 'carrier' of things on a trip....See MoreHas anyone had a leather handbag dyed a different color?
Comments (13)Don't give up yet. There are opaque products for painting leather (https://tandyleather.com/collections/supplies/products/eco-flo-cova-color). While it's unlikely that you could find anyone who explicitly offered re-dying as a service, you can probably find a leatherworker who would be willing to do it if you bought the dyes/colors. Maybe you could find a leatherworker or Etsy and you could do the whole thing by mail (as so much is done these days). My daughter has been taking leatherworking at summer camp for years--I think she's done that camp 5 or 6 times now--and dyed me a fabulous magenta bracelet. My impression is that the coloring step is pretty fast and easy, though I can't speak to recoloring....See More- 13 years ago
