tgif...I can SEEEE!

Whoo-hoo! 4G has come to the boontoolies. Well, we are still on the fringe and only get 3G, but we finally have decent high speed. I can look at food porn. I can look at WFD. I can go through the Gallery. I can watch videos. I can work at home. And Pinterest is addicting. No more dialup, and with a booster we have cell service. I'm so excited! When we bought the mobile hotspot, they gave us $100 off anything in the store so I got a Kindle Fire for half price. I am in gadget heaven.

Almost a long weekend for me. Off today and a half day at work tomorrow, then I'm off until Tuesday. I have a huge list of projects, including a few hours of work...I need to do a book order. In my recliner, with a latte. Hard job, but someone's gotta do it. Will have to stay away from Angry Birds and those stupid pigs, lol.

That's great news! I checked where my parents live and found that they could have 4G if they wanted it, but they will never get computers. They don't even have cell phones.

I'm taking off early today because my sister and BIL are coming from Austin for a week-end visit. They arrive at 2:00 PM and leave on Monday. On Saturday, we plan to go to the Huntington Gardens, as I mentioned before. The weather will be a bit cool this week-end with highs in the mid 60s, with partly cloudy skies, and so I'm hoping for a bit more sun. Anyway, we should be okay with jackets, and at least it is not supposed to rain here, although it is supposed to rain in Austin.

Good luck with your projects - I've only been doing my outdoor projects lately, and so if it would rain, I would get more done indoors.

O she's pretty!! I can almost smell her! SPring is soooo close, it even smells like Spring outside. I took the dogs out this morn and you wouldnt believe how many BlueJays were in my yard all vying for the affections of one female. They were trying to hop around on the ice of the pond slip sliding everywhere, lol. The poor cardinals that have a nest in my wild roses were just hiding and peeking, lol. I always have a lot of Blue Jays in my yard, but I just cant get over how many were out there this morning. All those Blue Jays and other birds making all that racket..I LOVE it! O, and this morning I woke up to lovely pics of ANdrew's Gold on the calendar :) Thank you Lucy for all the beautiful pix you share with us..I love my calendar!! thank you, again!!

ok, this is what i've found, i'm going thru the seeds, OMGAWD!!!!! i'm separtating them into vege's/fruits/spices and flowers/grasses/plants and the pumpkins i've found are just simply amazing, so carol, i have no idea what in the world you want, BUT we have doubles of some, so they will be on their way after i get more stamps if i run out, LOL i did find some jack b little, and some white ones, they're so cute!! LOL and i found some tall delux snaps mix and i know i have doubles of that one, so the whole package is your guy's, i did find some kntucky old fashioned petunia. and i have some old fashioned petunia, let me tell ya, they smell good only at night!! LOL i like them in the house, hubs said not in MY livingroom, i think i'll stay snuggling w talla till i get himm to "let" me have my plant out in the livingroom, Hee Hee seeee, very non argumentive. **onrey grinn** he say's i'm positively mean and evil at times, i tell him i just get what i want no matter what it takes, **giggle** na, we like to onrilly joke so much. oh yeah i have congo watermelon, is that a big one?

TGIF y'all. Chiming in late as usual. Everyone seems to have something nice planned, even if it IS bathing suit shopping. I was supposed to go out with a friend for her birthday Friday lunch, but I had to cancel, and I suggested Sat night at our house instead thinking she might be alone - SCORE! She is excited about coming over for my cooking, LOL. Vday is a big yawn here. I am lucky, I've been treated like a queen pretty much every single day since 1981 when I met DH. No flowers though, unless he grows them himself, suits me fine - I don't like flowers...messy plant genitalia. I appreciate them better on the plant where they do some good. Today we're going to try to drag the kids to our library to renew passports; theirs have expired. I have chicken marsala on tonight's menu since a local store has HUGE MUTANT boneless chicken breasts (health food store, they say its natural, swear to God) on sale for $2/lb. I've been doing a little bit of necklace beading. I'm trying to fix a necklace I broke all over my car last September, and started noodling around ebay - not a good idea, grin. This guy has some stuff I've been lusting after - means a trip to downtown LA's bead mart....so far I've made a necklace I didn't like so I donated it to our school fund raiser, I made it in our school colors. Hey every few bucks helps. Sunday night we're going to a friends house for dinner, Monday I haven't figured out yet! I might drag a kid up to Los Angeles, museum hopping.

Congratulations Pat you must be so happy and so relieved. David - Happy Birthday to your Mom. Pam, I sympathize with you. The rain of yellow pollen hasn't hit here yet but our news reports say this year is going to be the worst year in a decade for allergies. We started out the day with dog school - Ollie finished advanced class a week ago and we started "Click a Trick". We don't really care about tricks but thought that just teaching him more would be good. He has learned to shake, spin around twice and finish by sitting, take a bow and the one useful trick is that we have succeeded in teaching him to chase a ball and bring it back to us - he had apparently never played in his first home. Then we went to the dog wash and left with a sweet smelling, fluffy dog. Max worked in his garden when we came home and will continue tomorrow. I don't have anything more exciting than some laundry and office work to look forward to. But I always look forward to the weekends and having Max at home. Clinking to you all with my club soda. Lee

So....TGIF isn't allowed on the discussion side any more(?). I got a polite email reprimand.

Really, the only food I mentioned was my coffee...guess I should've mentioned the fish tacos I'm making right now and the chicken that's thawing for tomorrow's dinner. Or all the recipes I've saved off Pinterest. My first slap on the hand, lololol.

Really, no TGIF on discussions? Figures, someone complained.

I'm at Elery's, we went to Trader Joe's today and to the Asian Market. Tomorrow we go to a birthday party for his granddaughter Jillian, she's 2. I baked a cake shaped like a purse, that kid just loves purses. She puts bacon in them and carries it around, stops every now and then for a bacon break, LOL, very convenient because it's right there in her purse.

Katie, enjoy your technological success. (grin) Soon it won't be fast enough...

pam, I haven't figured out Pinterest yet either, but Ashley loves it, as does Elery's sister. So far the allure has escaped me, so I'm sure I'm missing something.

Annie -Yeah, I figured, though at first I thought it was for a different reason (see below and consider my profession, hehe). Seems like I saw someone complain about talking about your retirement. It's ok....I have always felt a little left out because I've never gotten The Email, lol.

I wasn't going to reply to Gardenweb, but geez, it's TGIF. And they said I didn't need to reply....sooooo....here's my reply:

Pinterest is a time-sucker, like solitaire or angry birds. Lots of food porn. I do find a lot of ideas for kids' crafts at programs, and I started one for the library with all our new items so people can browse the covers, and it links to our catalog so people can place holds on the new stuff. Good PR :)

I don't have a smart phone or a tablet, so no Angry Birds for me, thank goodness. My life has enough time suckers and I'm related to a couple of them, LOL.

Welcome to the club of people how have gotten those "friendly reminders". (grin) I've even gotten a couple no so friendly reminders when I allowed myself to be baited into "discussions". Ahem.

Ashley gets some craft ideas from Pinterest, but my attention span is too short, I guess.

I have avoided Pinterest. I know a time sponge when I see one. :)

I do love a few arts or design oriented blogs and visit those often. This one I like.
