OT: POTD: Why I loved my last vacation in Florida

Good morning, Good morning.

If I say it often enough, I might wake up rofl

Today we say TGIF again. I say, thank you for Florida Nurseries!!

The prices...man the prices on the plants I find I must have...are GREAT lol I found this beauty for ONLY $ 4.95!! It was a really nice sized plant. When I walked with my daughter through the nursery..I kept on saying..no no...I got to find SMALLER plants so I can ship them lol. She said...we like to get them in LARGE sizes so the landscape looks like it has been there rofl.

Both are blooming like crazy right now!Also have a redish one

As soon as it gets light...I will follow Chocolate Brug instructions on how he roots Hibiscus' and take cuttings. Where ever I can.

Lucy, Maddy is so cute! They certainly give us a reason to smile, don't they. Makes life so much richer. I too thoroughly enjoy my 2 yrs 8 mo old GD, although right now we are going through that "no I not!" response anytime you ask her to do something, LOL! Kristy, Morgan is so beautiful! Chocolate Brug it all sounds like your named Plumeria fits this one to a T. But I am sure with Plumerias you can not exactly say WHAT the name is either and thus, I should call it my NOID peachy Beauty :-) Theresa the cutting itself is unfortunately real crooked...no way you can ship it. But I took 2 extra...one for Kristy if she wants one and who knows, maybe Kylie wants the other one? My luck ran out this morning thou. I went and said hi and checked if the Bambi is really the one in my next door neighbors yard...and I volunteered to water their yard for a week after I get back from Vacation rofl. But I don't mind. I am so glad I can repay them somehow for their generosity. Lucy

Bob, there are way to many to pick just ONE BEST picture :-) Kylie, I am SO busy with trying to get everything ready for the vacation....Thinking about you a lot and the great time we had. Hopefully AFTER the vacation I will have a life again and can get in touch with you. Until then, potted up the Cuttings today because I do not want hubby to deal with cuttings in water. OT: POTD: some Plumeria seedlilngs I repoted last night

Barbra I do not remember which member talked about the peanut germination method. All I remember is that Karyn used biodegradeble ones, without knowing that they were and they dissolved and all got mixed up :-( All you do is cut a slit in the peanut. Insert the seed so the bottom immerses into the water. Which is warm and in a shallow container. I did change the water but they germinate real fast. After they had germinated I planted them in a container. That is how I grew mine out. I am with Bob. When you grow them from seeds, you get so many interesting growing Plumeria's!! From Pictures for GW friends I love this one. Just because it is totally different from all the other seedlings. Hey Girl A hug is needed here too!
First of all your hibiscus is beautiful.
My DH's Brother passed away yesterday.
Saturday he came down form NC to see everyone.
Told us he had cancer and was starting chemo Thursday.
He had a reaction to the chemo and passed away during it.
So feeling so really sad.

Lucy you don't want to know how cheap the plants really are in FL. Just think that $4.94 hibiscus was a retail price. They cost about half that wholesale. Several of DH's suppliers are in Homestead and plants that sell for $50+ up here like a 6' areca palm only costs about $7. By the time the plant reaches the retailer the price is ridiculous. Cut flower pricing is even worse. You don't want to know what that dozen Black Magic roses really costs at the wholesale level. lol

My condolences my dear friend. I guess my feeling to add that hug at the last minute was good. You and your family will be in my prayers. May God give you the strength to deal with the sudden loss as best as you possibly can.

Karyn you are right....it is best not to know lol But 5 bucks round about for a nice sized hibiscus for me is a steal lol

April it is long looooooooooooong ago since I went through the first day of school with the 1st born...but it is always harder on the moms to *let them go*. No matter how old they get and where life takes them, it never changes but if you love your child...you let them do their thing. That is IMHO.

Barb the cuttings are on the window sill for now. Took as many as I could from the bigger bushes...the new ones...I will give them another season before starting to take things away from them.

My neighbor came to the fence yesterday and told me that it looks awesome. Well and I am glad she gets to enjoy the flowers more close up now also :-)

HOT....I need to get my stinky self in the shower lol

Lucy, when I get my brug collection wittled down to 50 or less, I may get into hibiscus! LOL!

Lucy and All,
Thank you all for your condolences.
We will be leaving out some time tomorrow for NC.
The Funeral will be on Monday.
We will be taking a extra day coming home, so I'll be back on line Tues or Wed.
Hope y'all can do without me that long. (Yes I know I'm still silly)
Keep us in your prayers for a safe trip.

Be as silly as you wanna be, that is why you are so treasured here and YES a day without you, is a day without POTD!
