Internet Temps Won't Empty

I have done everything I can think of doing,Here are some of the steps I have tryed.

Downloaded Disk Cleaner, Run it, Return to Internet Explore and click tools,settings,files and temps are still there.
Run windows Disk clean , reboot, return to IE , check, still full.
Downloaded Crap Cleaner, Run it , reboot and return to Ie, check, still full.

Am using Windows XP Pro .Have SpyBot, SpywareGuard,CrapCleaner, FireWall is on, And run AVG8. If anything else is important, I will give this info also. Can anyone help me to figure this out. TIA Dian

ok well I have to ask of course ... you did go to tools, internet options, General tab and then clear the temp files from there right?

Think I'd try starting up in Safe mode to the prompt only using the 'Administrator' account logon & then probably change the prompt path to;
"C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files"
and delete the Content.IE5 folder.

I can certainly sympathize with your situation...I have been without a printer for many months now because the ink cartridges are so expensive. I have a Canon Multipass 550 which has been a lifesaver in the past...being able to fax, copy and print...then when you do breakdown to buy one...install it and it still says empty cartridge, you really want to scream. But get this...the cartridge isn't the problem...it's the print head...to the tune of $50 or so and this is the third time I have replaced it and lord only knows how many cartridges were full before I wised up! Now get this....those print heads can be washed in your kitchen sink, dried on the counter and reinstalled...I sure am glad I saved the other two, i'll try that next time! But, now...I can't get the printer to print everything on the page....it prints one or two lines of the document, then skips a good paragraph size area and picks up the print again......any suggestions! and of course, it doesn't help that the manual is online and no hard copy is provided...I'm ready to do the old uninstall/reinstall thing and see if that helps! Technology sucks....here today, obsolete before noon the next day! and it wasn't a cheapee either...about $250- $300 smack a roos 2-3 years ago! Even with the cheapees....you spend a fortune on ink, that's were they make the money i guess! So what do I have to lose if the washing dosen't work......blank pages! Not always. C:\Temp and C:\Windows\Temp are often used for temporary files used by programs that are running. C:\Temp is a holdover from DOS/Win 3.x days and it's unlikely to find a program still using this folder. "Well behaved programs" clean up after themselves and delete their temporary files from the temporary directory. If a program crashes (even a well behaved one) it will leave files in the temp directory. Some programs are like those coworkers who use the microwave and don't wipe it out afterward--they don't bother cleaning up after themselves. At any rate, you end up with a mixture of abandoned files in the temp directory. You can usually delete any that are from before your last reboot, but you can't just delete everything, because some of the files may still be in use, even if they aren't currently open and stopping you from deleting them. Deleting a file that is still needed by a program would be unfortunate.

A bit interesting that the fault triggers at the point of spin and not earlier during agitation. Agitation of course involves the same drive motor running in stepping-control motion. Fault 243 (11110011) - Stepper Test Failure Rotor Position Sensor (RPS) Fault. The Motor Control Module has attempted a motor step test and found the motor has not stepped to the correct position. Source: Wiring Action: Check the RPS harness for continuity and that the connectors are are not loosened from the RPS and/or Motor Control Module. Source: Rotor Position Sensor Action: Check the RPS with an RPS tester [Note: This is an F&P service tool. There is no other way to directly test the RPS. DO NOT attempt a resistance reading on it with a volt/ohm meter]. Fit a new RPS if found faulty. [Note: A replacement RPS is not too expensive to just replace it if suspect.] Source: Motor Control Module Action: Replace the MCU Source: Motor Action: Check continuity of motor phases. Check continuity of the bridge terminal on the stator and observe that it is not burnt. Replace the stator.

Like several others, I didn't download the plug-in. If you think it'd appeal to other grad students with a family, why don't you market to them directly. Take out an ad in the student newspaper and post some flyers in the lounges and student center. If I remember correctly, this is the time of year when all of the students are hustling and bustling to upgrade to new housing anyway. Make them want it. List any amenities such as close to campus or whatever is relevant for this school. This may cost you a little extra out of pocket, but it could be worth it.

Yes I did try that too. Sorry I forgot to mention that try in my first post. The thing is that when I delete all, It does show as empty. Only to reappear on reboot.Every file that I deleted come back when I check after reboot.

If I do as you suggest. Do you think that then, when I empty these files again with Crap cleaner, That they will then delete and not reappear upon reboot. TY. Dian

Are you doing start
all programs
assessories
system tools
disk clean-up
checking the appropriate (or all) boxes?

I just cleaned mine 3 times and there is 5KB left in temp files and 32KB under Web Client...something that must be involved in what I have open or with posting at this time I suppose maybe...and will not concern myself with.

You might try, if you havent, running the CheckDisk Error checking - right click C drive and select properties.

Usually when you cant delete IE cache its an indication of a corrupt file within Content.IE5 folder.

Sometimes running CheckDisk here in the past has fixed simple things like a file date that's screwed up from a server but it won't be able to fix all things that could be causing the cache not to clear.

You'll have to be logged in as administrator in safe mode but not on the named account where its corrupt to be able to delete it.

I would speculate it could be a corrupt user account too. Which would require you to make a new user name/pass login and the delete your current one. But the first logical thing to do is delete the content.ie5 folder from safe mode and another account - and see what happens.
