you will need to open the control panel and look at the system info to find out what you have on that laptop if it is 2000 or Me. You should be able to find free antivirus and firewall that will work. What I would do is use one of the old versions of zonealarm it will be fine for what you want to do, let me know if you decide to do that and I can give you a link to one of those. Yes you would need to either install a wireless card or use a usb wireless adapter which would probably be easier. Then add the wireless router and get it set up with the proper security protocol.

Jenn, I usually just put a blank cd (or DVD) into the drive and when it loads I hit the reduce button, not the one that drops it out of sight, just reduce to half size. Then I go into "my computer" thru the icon on the desktop, then I click on "My Documents" and most everything I want to move is there. Then I reduce that page to half size and I start dragging things into the cd open screen and dropping them in. Works for me. If an item isn't in "My Documents", you can look for it and drag and drop it in too. When the disk is full, another screen comes up and says, "Copy these files to CD (DVD"?), or something like that, click on it and it goes to work. It's built into Win XP which I assume you are using. As I said before, the music files are too big, at least for cd's, so I can't get many of them copied this way. It's free and probably a little more trouble than the program above?, but just thought I'd mention the method.

I have no problem with the software, have actually found one, free but limited, only 36 pics. allowed, and it re-codes,formats,etc, and plays in our 2 DVD players, however would like one that allows more pics. and also don't know how long, I can use this one before they bug me to pay for full version.. so figured someone here knew of a total free one? this one also erases or formats and writes over a DVD-RW, has very kewl transitions too, seems ashame to burn 15 mins. on a 2 hr. DVD..wish they made shorter length DVD's??

Are you talking about the jewel case inserts? I have a couple different programs that came free with CD labels. One is Memorex, the other is CD Stomper. They both do labels, jewel case inserts, DVD Case inserts, spine labels, etc. They work pretty good. I usually use my Roxio program - it is what I burn my CD/DVD's with. It also has a label creator. It will make the CD case inserts also. I usually use my own graphics or pictures on the cases/labels.
