Do they ever predict anything but cold and snowy for the Northeast in February?! As for the hurricane forecast, this certainly has been a very, very strange season! Was expected to very bad, but abnormally quiet! Probably one of he strangest seasons I can remember. Don't know what to make of it.--May be a very late season. Like X-Mas storms?! Unbeknownst to its users, Webshots employed its Webshots Desktop Application (a free program that users can download from their site to manage their online pictures) to install the Kiwee Toolbar as part of a software update for this program. Other than the Wikipedia article (whose references don't appear to have anything to do with the surreptitious installation of Kiwee) and complaints in support forums about problems getting it off a computer, I don't see anything about it being forced on users. Was it one of the many tools bars included with software that installed by default but unchecking a box provided an opt-out? I just don't know. Although several of the search hits I saw included the word "unbeknownst" which leaves me wondering if they were written by the same person or several people parroting the others. In any case, it seems more a case of poorly written code and even poorer judgment on the part of American Greetings than malware. American Greetings does offer instructions on how to remove Kiwee although it sounds like you need to install the latest, greatest version first. I'm not sure I'd be jumping at at offer. Do you have any idea of the number of computers I've looked at with upwards of a half dozen different tools bars installed? Every user claimed they never installed them. Yes they did, when the went click, click, click without bothering to read what was on the screen. Now maybe I got up on my soapbox a little too soon and American Greetings did install poorly written software on their customers' computers without their customers knowledge or consent. If that is the case, I would be writing a nice letter to Mr. Weiss letting him know why he won't be getting any more of my money. Even if it meant giving up a really pretty screen saver.

what is wrong with all these people? I have been in construction my whole life as a GC and in the last 5 years just doing kitchens as design order build company. Rarely does a kitchen take more than 5-8 business days tear out to counters, appliances and touch up paint. My longest was 3 weeks for 2 baths and a kitchen. I ended up doing all of the job as the owners kept asking me to do things they were going to hire others to do. I have remodeled entire homes I bought fixed and sold in less than a month with complete tear outs of the baths kitchens flooring wiring plumbing you name it. It never took me over 120 days to build houses from the ground up as that is what I did out of school with my dad in his business. What are you doing taking 15 months or longer? How do these guys make any money or your are crazy paying them the prices they charge! And every project I have ever done has a fixed price for labor on it no matter what including all kitchen remodels. Lesson learned I bet you have a contract that encourages bad behavior on the part of those working for you. If he only was going to make so much money he would be motivated to finish and move on the to the next one or he will not be able to pay his personal bills cause the job is not done and he can not collect any money because of it.
