He has an NEC pc, running W/98. He has what is supposed to be a "cd burner" on it. He put a cd with photos he wanted to copy in the cd tray and put a cd-rw disc in the burner drawer. I don't know if the cd-rw disc was formatted or not but it wasn't able to copy. That's not the problem. He can't explain to me what he did after that except that he "manually forced open" the cd-rw tray to remove the disc. Now it will close, but pops back open again. We've tried rebooting the pc, but nothing changed. I don't know what other info to post here but we'd sure like to get that tray to stay closed.

Any suggestions?
