nausea/60mhz vs 72mhz

I understand Microsoft refreshes with 60mhz. Lately I have been nauseated when looking at the computer screen (laptop). The screen is 17", non-glare. I have made the font larger, look away every few minutes and just plain stop sometimes.

I understand that 72mhz does not cause as many problems- are there some programs that use 72mhz? I don't suppose there is any way to make refreshing 'faster'?

Have any of you had to deal with this longterm? What do you do?

Thanks

Right click anywhere on the desktop, click Properties, click the Settings tab, click the Advanced tab, click the Monitor tab.

Now you should see the refresh rate and probably your computer will only show settings that the monitor is capable of handling. In my case it only shows 60 hertz. If yours is not set like that you definitely need to investigate to see what the limits are.

    I've always used 85mhz.
There will be a check box to "hide modes that this monitor cannot display".
