Congratulations Linda! Your excitement is coming through my computer screen:-) What fun you will have buying all things pink and frilly, though one can't rule out that she may have a bit of the tomboy in her, in which case green or blue and frilly might be adorable as well!
Either way, she's definitely going to have the good cook genes, lucky little girl! DONNA
Congratulations, You must just be ecstatic. Little girl babies are sooooo much fun. Just like us grammas playing dollies again. Maybbe we need to do a name the baby contest here on the CF! Sherry
Oh yeah, we'll definitely do the "princess" stuff. But I intend to also take her for hikes in the woods an make sure she knows her wildflowers and birds, and get her little hands dirty in "grandma's garden", and it goes without saying that she will learn to cook at a VERY early age! LOL
Oh...and as soon as she can figure out a computer, she'll be "one of us", of course!
WOOO-FREAKIN-HOOOO! This is going to be so much fun!
Do get some gender-neutral stuff too, though. Ultrasounds aren't fail-safe - I have a friend whose very butch looking little boy had to wear pink for his first year or so because they couldn't afford to replace the stuff they had bought anticipating a girl :-)
Oh Linda! I can speak from experience that your decor will change and have a nice pink color here and there. LOL! We have a princess couch, pillow and blanket that now has it's very own place in our living area. Not to mention the foyer closet (under the stairs) is now a toy room. I'm so excited for you! Life as you know it will change completly.
I have kept my Maggie two days a week for 28 months...she starts daycare on Monday :-( So enjoy your little girl, time goes by so quickly.
How exciting, this will be more fun than you can imagine. But.........don't buy too much, yet, it's still a bit early to commit.
When my daughter was pregnant with my first grandchild (very thoughtful, I think), after her first ultrasound she told us the baby was a girl. (I just had a very strong feeling it was a boy and didn't get anything) She had another ultrasound a couple of months later, and they told her the baby was a boy. The ultrasound tech said that he was probably turned a little for the first ultrasound, hence no boy parts. His name is Christoper and he's three now. During her second pregnancy, she waited a couple of months longer for the ultrasound, and even when they told her the baby was a girl, she was cautious. Her name is Mary and she's 9 months old now.
I am having a blast shopping for my dear great neice Alexia. For her first birthday Aunti Susie bought her a cabbage patch doll. I just recently ordered a fancy schmancy doll coach which she'll get for Easter or maybe Valentines day or maybe as soon as it gets here LOL!!
Have fun girl shopping!!
Cheers! Susie
p.s. if we are suggesting names might I suggest my new favorite Adrianna (a wee small little baby I recently met at work-simply precious!!)
Linda, I can hear all of the excitement through your words! Grandbabies are such fun. I'm envious of you getting to shop for newborn girlie stuff...you'll have such fun.
Well, so far, I have only gotten a couple of jammies, some bibs, some soft toy blocks and some crib sheets. But now that I know it's a girl, I'll be on the lookout for all kinds of stuff.
Oh yeah, bring on some name ideas! I know Sarah is considering Zoe Michelle, but I don't think Nathan is in total agreement so I'll give them your suggestions!
Oh, congratulations Nana! Yes your excitement over your granddaughter is evident! Lucky you, there are so many adorable things for little girls, enjoy the little sweetie when she arrives. Di
Well the ultrasound my future daughter-in-law had yesterday showed that her new baby has a strong and steady heartbeat and is about as big as a peanut so far. She is due Sept 5. We are hoping for a girl since she has a son who is 3 , he will turn 4 on June 14 before the baby arrives.
How exciting! Grandchildren are GRAND and so much fun (and they have alot of energy.) I can't help you in the girlie department as I have 2 yr. old and 4 yr. old Grandsons!
