e-mail problems

All of a sudden, when I went to check my e-mail, I got a message something like, "Please enter a User Name and Password for the following server. Server incoming.verizon.net." The 2 boxes where this info is to be filled in already have this filled in User name johnson291, PW...... When I click OK, the same message just reappears. I tried retyping the UN and PW, but still get the same message reappearing. When I click Cancel, I get the screen shown in the link.

I use Hotmail (free) and often when I get emails from an AOL email addy, they won't open for me. Not sure why. They aren't anything like wonderful pics being shared, but rather things from the net that have been forwarded and forwarded, and forwarded...all with the names and addresses. What are the email programs involved? Are you maybe able to see the pics at the actual on line email site before or after they are downloaded to Thunderbird? Have you narrowed it down to it being Thunderbird for sure? Sue

Her email is not being rejected as Spam. What I tried to explain was the possibility that her Internet provider is allowing someone to send out Spam. If that is the case and SORBS are involved they would send the offending ISP a warning, if they heed the warning and close the spammer down all is well. However if they are tardy and fail to act then SORBS acts as an intermediary and blocks everything leaving that particular server. An internet provider can have numerous servers and if only one is involved in Spam then only that one gets blocked. That is why I asked if every email gets blocked or some. So.......... why not try this When the email is returned to the other person what is the reason given? Is it every piece or most of them getting returned? Have your friend right click on the returned message then click Properties, then Details then Message source. Bring this up to full screen and read down through the message. It seems likely that your server is allowing Spam to go out so her internet provider is blocking that server entirely. Look for the word SORBS - it may also be other companies but SORBS are big into this. Until that happens you are not going to know very much for sure.

Could be your ISP is just unusually busy at that time of day. Some months ago I had the same thing happen and that was the problem.

are you using the print email button on your actual email program? Mine will not print properly unless I use the actual button built into the email program. which email program are you using? for example on my hotmail at the top row where it says NEW, Delete, Junk etc there is a small printer icon that is how I have to print the individual emails by using that icon.

Thanks for the replies. I believe it is a Verizon issue, because I hadn't done anything to it and at about three o clock, EDT, I clicked on it again and about 10 messages came up, which I could read, but then the error message (the one I put in the link) came up again. About 5 minutes later, I tried it again, and got the message asking for the PW again. When I clicked on cancel, I got the big error message again. I guess I'll just wait it out for a few hours to see what happens, before attempting anything else.
