Outlook 2010 Stationery

Hello Everyone....it's been a long time since I've popped in here and so glad to see that this great forum is still here.

New laptop: HP with Win 8.1
IE 11

The computer came with Microsoft Office 2013 Home/Student, which does not include Outlook. I installed my stand alone Outlook 2010, which is what I have on my old HP laptop. On the old laptop, I can access the stationery file & themes, but on the new one it says that they are not installed.

The stationery file is located here on BOTH laptops:

This PC -Windows (C) -Program Files (x86) -/Common Files -Microsoft Shared -Stationery

Could someone help me set it up so that I can access the stationery on the new laptop?

Also, wondering about Mozilla T-Bird instead. I read that Mozilla was not supporting it any longer. Is that right?

Thanks so much for the reply. I had done a little research and found pretty much the same sad news. I just thought maybe there was a way to move the files to the right place and make it work. Guess not.

Any thoughts from anyone on Thunderbird? Would it be a good alternative?

I myself (having used Outlook 2007) don't know enough about these things to know whether it might be something about your recipients' mail settings or not. But if you're able to send an email successfully to yourself with the image showing inline, it might mean that something about your version of Outlook (what version is it, btw? 2003? 2007? 2010?) is triggering the removal of the image from the body of the message. But I would think if that were the case, then your recipients would at least get the notification "some images have been removed for your safety; click here to display them." Incidentally, you said you sent the test emails to yourself. I take it you viewed those messages in your offline client (Outlook). Did you also view them in your webmail to see if they displayed inline there as well? As another resource, you might want to check the Outlook forums here. I've used them in the past and have gotten good help. I did a quick search there for your issue and found two from 2010 here and here. In neither case did the OP continue the thread, so I have no idea if anything was resolved, but the answers didn't seem to encouraging. :-( But if your version of Outlook is more recent than those available at the time, there may be different settings to try, so you may wish to inquire there anyway. ???

Beache perhaps you need to look on the left side of the Outlook screen. Underneath the "Mail" heading there are "Favourite Folders" and "Mail Folders" and each has a clickable pair of chevrons beside them for a drop down menu. Try clicking each and see what you have, might just be your answer.

Does this folder exist on both computers?

%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Stationery

If so, does the one contain files(html) and the other is empty(or non-existent)?

If so, can you simply copy the stationery files from one computer to the other?

I'm not saying it would work, I don't know, but it's easy enough to try.

This is for Office 2010 but it still might work: Copy stationery to another computer

Thunderbird is still being supported in sense that it is community driven.

Tried the file transfer idea but strangely, the file on the on the computer where the stationery works is empty. I'll keep looking, though, and see if I can't locate the proper file on each computer.

I installed Thunderbird and it seems to fit the bill.

Did you go into programs (86) and check there. I go there for shortcuts for my Iwin games to avoid their game manager.
