Denise, It's a lot easier if you have the right outlook on the kittens, they are livestock, they usually bring in money to the farm, so we can't afford to get attached. I used to have blue cats (as a matter of fact our first blue we got when we moved back to CA was Purrum's great-grandmother) which the kittens helped pay for the feed of the other animals. I tend to think of my cats as I do all my animals, they don't get names unless they are breeders, then they are lavished with attention. This doesn't keep the kids from naming them though. This is going to be our last litter, hopefully we can get Purrum spayed once she has weaned her kittens. Since we lost our blues, we don't sell our kittens anymore but offer them to anyone who wants them. The pet store will take them but offers nothing but the reassurance they won't go to the pound. I was looking at the kittens today, one looks like a previous kitten we had my kids named Troll so he is now known as "Troll jr." another looks like Purrum's mama who was poisoned when Purrum was 3 weeks old, Chantilly, so she will be Tilly. Two down, two to go, it looks like either three females and one male or two/two, one is questionable at this age. PS Your girls are adorable.

I'm out for this year due to the drought here in the Southeast. I am just a small backyard grower that sells at a tiny farmers market in a neighboring city. I mostly grow stuff that does well for me in my yard, a lot of ornamentals, some herbs, veggie starts, a pretty big mix because the customer's tastes change throughout the season. The drought and high heat really did a number on me last summer and this summer is predicted to be worse, much worse. Now they have very tight watering restrictions in place to save as much water as possible for drinking ($1000 fine the first time you're caught using public water to water your garden, water shut off the second time!!!!!). They now measure the amount of available water in days rather than months. Needless to say, most people are not buying plants. Many local nurseries and growers have gone out of business. Some of them lost everything including their land and homes in the process. It is a sad sad situation. I can keep the stock I have now alive by hauling water up from a creek til it goes dry. I can spend the year making adjustments to my display and building more birdhouses (reliable sellers). In other words, get my act together. But selling doesn't look good until it rains enough to lift these restrictions. With gas getting more expensive, the economy tanking, it does look like a tough ride this next summer but I believe I will be perfectly situated to jump in once things turn around - I may have no competition when that day comes.

hellow everyone. shirley, i guess in certain areas, men are scarce and in other areas,women are. i hear alaska is 10 men for everyone woman....beth, is this right? that yummy cowboy is sounding real good. i love yummy! trish, it's always nice to hear from you and so glad you stay with us and are considering getting back into a swap. and yes, december is a christmas swap. i will be hosting that one. i give you a lot of credit taking care of your mom. i did my uncle until he passed away in april. life around you sort of goes on hold but i found it to be worth it. i wouldn't have traded my time with him for anything in the world. i'm just now cleaning up my garden(s). speaking of which.... i am SOOOOOO mulched out. my back is broke, but everything looks so clean and nice. i have 7 beds done - cleaned up, weeded, mulched. i even bagged up what needed to be because i can't get close to my compost pile. as a matter of fact, i think the weeds swallowed that. when you go into the yard, that's a whole other story - it's such a mess and my way back is a total disgrace. another month and i should have it done, especially since it gets darker earlier these days. i push every minute of daylight. my dogs are getting better adapted every day. they sure have come a long way, although i still can't get collars on them, nor can i take them for a walk and i really need to get them to a vet - they need to be fixed. i have a visiting vet coming after the dog man comes - i am not sure if he is a psychologist or behavorialist, but he's supposed to work wonders. gracie is actually claiming my bed as her own, and sometimes she comes upstairs. i think she goes into my room because her sister won't, so she has her own space, at least until i want my room. they will not go out to do their business without the other, even if one doesn't have to go, the other has to keep watch. they are such freaks, but i love them. tina, i think we all cheat and eat a bit unhealthy at times. one thing i like for dinner on occasion is breakfast. it tastes different when it's for dinner. i'm not big on sandwiches though, it really has to be something spectacular for me to eat a sandwich, well, other than a tomato sandwich when they are fresh from the garden, then i can eat one every day. fresh bread, slab on some mayo, salt and pepper and delishhhhhhhhhh. mary ellen, a little early for homecoming, isn't it? how is everything going these days? back to "regular"? skoal...lol when you travel further upstate here, trucks, gun racks, skoal, tooth or two, oooh and those chains that connect to your belt or belt loop and then to a wallet, baseball caps...you get the picture. we don't call them bubba's though, but it's kind of the same. okay julie, i just had to google...and found the love sponge! OK ladies...I need some help here. I am not married, but have been in a relationship for 14 months and we live together. I have had a problem in the past of sending suggestive messages to women online. Recently I sent a message to a girl I knew from a bar that I used to go to alot. Haven't seen this girl in probably 2 years or more maybe and were just friends and not very good friends at that. One day while she was away with her daughter at a gymnastics meet, I sent a suggestive message...which was never answered...My GF has looked through my phone on several occasions looking at who I talk to (when we first started seeing each other I was chatting with an old friend I hadnt seen for 20 years...I was very wrong in what I did there and it stopped well before she ever found it on my phone) I have messaged friends and said things that she thought suggestive and I should have worded my responses better. for instance, a friend was at a bar drinking and instead of saying as she says, I am with mhy GF I can't, I said wish I cold join you, but maybe another time. I honestly didnt mean anything by that as we had only been friends and that was it. another instance was I am in fantasy football and one of my leagues there is a girl, a friend for over 2 years and she has been seeing a friend of mine. she was new to the sport last few years and often texted me for advice. Once week while I was going to play versus her team, I reponded 'I'm gonna eat you up" - I am a former semi pro footbal player and that's just how trash talk goes...meant nothing suggestive at all...in hindsight, I now see that maybe my responses could have been much different. the message the day of the gymnastics meet was back in October...I haven't done anything since then but she still constantly monitors my facebook messaging. I honestly have not been chatting with anyone at all. I rarely even get on there at all. she see my messnger getting logged into and will send me messages to see if I will respond. sometimes I never get them because I am not even on there, or I will get them much later and respond to her. I just thought that my chat being logged in on FB was the reason. come to find out it is the Messenger App that has always been logged into on my conmputer and on my phone....I NEVER use it..but because of the thing last Oct...she doesnt believe anything I say and is even questioning a long lunch I had with my boss where we we drinking...which is what I told her I was doing. Please, please what can I do...she is going to leave me and she is newly pregnant with my child and I love her so much..I need help to try and get her to let me back in and re-gain her trust.. I am just lost and so sorry for all I have done wrong to her. but I really do love her and want to Marry her. I have been true to her 100% except the messages I spoke of and maybe a few others that I unintentionally said the wrong thing.... HELP!!!
