I un-installed ver 11.0 and installed the older 10.0.2 in it's place. I also un-installed Flash Player and re-installed that again. ...still the same results after shutting down and re-starting! 3. Going back to my tech support days, you need to clear your flash cache, if you are on a page containing flash you can right click on it and get into your flash control panel that way, there might even be a control panel for it settings>control panels, lastly if I recall somewhere on the adobe flash download page I think on the left there is some sort of settings option there, click on it and it'll have a bunch of tabs. You probably want to clear the cache out and see if that helps. You could also try add/remove programs, uninstall it, reinstall/reboot. Have you edited your registry before? Did you back it up first, to a separate disk? You can do very bad things messing with your registry if something goes wrong.

Thanks for the responses and help. I am not using antivirus and removed the the antivirus before my Adobe problems. I checked/installed updates to Windows and IE. I went to Adobe.com and installed/reinstalled. This morning the issues seem partly fixed. When I am on a web page, such as Yahoo, whether in IE or FF, some of the boxes display and some don't. If I go to a web page page, like Yahoo's tech page, that has mostly boxes that have videos in them, I see the text in the boxes but they are otherwise blank. If I click on the box a video then starts playing. I know this isn't how it's supposed to work, but it's better than it was yesterday. Maybe if I wait till the next Adobe or Windows update it will sort itself out? Thanks for the suggestions. If you think of anything please let me know. I think I will put this laptop away for a week or two and use my Win7 laptop instead. I'll check on updates the next time I get it out and hope for the best.

Well, that's a loaded question. Do you need Flash? It's basically built into many browsers now (Microsoft Edge, Chrome and derivatives) so you don't need to "get it". For Firefox and IE, you still need to download separately, but make sure you're actually using sites that need it. It's probably the most common way to get a virus browsing the web today and is a major pain to keep installing updates (sometimes daily) and restarting your browser to get the new version. If you don't need it, it's pretty simple to not install it. If you do need it, or it's part of the browser you're using, you should consider getting a flash blocker extension so you can only enable the actual flash content you want - much safer.
