Urgent HELP is Needed!!!

It has been a while since the Adobe Flash Player has not been working on my desktop. The desktop has Vista.

This morning for may be the 10th time, I tried to install the Adobe Flash Player, below are what I did:

1. Followed the instructions as listed on the "Troubleshoot Adobe Flash Player Installation for Windows" at the " http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html"; and made sure the security settings were set as instructed, such as allowing download...etc.

2. Downloaded the Adobe Flash Player from " http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/";.

3. Disabled the Pop-Up Blocker on my desktop.

4. Went to the C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash folder and manually installed the download.I then rebooted the computer.

Everything looked fine until I tried to watch the video clip on the Wallstreet Journal Online. I got a message "The version of Adobe Flash Player required to view this interactive has not been found.

To enjoy our complete interactive experience, please download a free copy of the latest version of Adobe Flash Player".

What did I do wrong? Is WSJ video clip a good way to tell if Adobe Flash Player is working?

This has been such a pain without Flash Player.

What have I done wrong besides I should not purchased a desktop with a Vista?

Please HELP!!!
