Outlook Express keeps sending and sending and sending......

I am using Outlook Express as my email program. I have noticed that large files would take a very long time to leave my computer after clicking the "send" button. However, now, even the smallest file is having trouble being sent.

When I click send, the email seems to go and sit in the Outbox. Eventually there will be a box appear that says something about some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks. The email continues to sit in the outbox, but I have discovered that the email is being sent out time after time after time. It will continue to send that email out until I go to the Outbox and transfer the email to the Deleted folder.

I called my local ISP to see if they could help me, but they told me I had a problem in my Outlook Express and that was not a problem they could help me with. I tried doing a System Restore, but that did not help me.

I seem to receive email okay. It is just that I cannot send an email they way I should be able to send it.

Has anyone experienced this problem? Does anyone know of a solution? I thank you for your help.

Take a moment and disable your anti-virus. Then send yourself a test email with a small amount of text content. Maybe a small paragraph or so. Any change.

Following the test, please remember to enable your AV.

I disabled my McAfee anti-virus.....and the problem is still there. Any other ideas?

Hi: You posted in the Maple forum; is the tree that's producing these shoots a maple? If so, what kind? Do you just want to kill the 'shoots,' or the parent tree? Is this a case of many seedlings sprouting up, independently of the main tree, or are they literally shoots (coming off the root system of the original plant)? This could impact your ability to kill the shoots without killing the original tree. Lastly, if you want to kill the original tree, is this all on your property? I ask because I can envision a scenario where the tree is on your neighbor's yard, you chop the shoots on your property & use a concentrate of Glycopyrolate (active ingredient in RoundUp) on the cut sections to kill them, and the neighbor's tree dies... Owbist, I think you just fixed my problem. After becoming stuck on the deleting of the temporary files.....I skipped over a couple of steps in the repair kit. I read the part which about when suddenly messages that you sent are no longer being sent to the "Sent Folder". That is exactly what is happening here. The first step to try....was to compact all folders. That fixed my problem! I am no longer sending multiple emails. Sent emails are going to the Sent Folder. Wow.....this is great !! Do you think I should go back and complete the removing of the temporary files even though it seems my problem is solved? Owbist....I cannot thank you enough. This is the best computer help website on the internet. The Computer Help Forum has gotten me out of many jams. I thank everyone who comes to this forum.....and special thanks to all who provide suggestions and solutions. Larry
