Outlook express will not send.

The problem is probably not with Outlook Express but with your e-mail server. Do you use a web based program such at Hotmail or Gmail, or do you use a service provided by your ISP? Definitely need more information here before any help can be rendered.

Yes! And there should be some sort of error code generated is there?

Take a moment and disable your anti-virus. Then send yourself a test email with a small amount of text content. Maybe a small paragraph or so. Any change. Following the test, please remember to enable your AV. DA

Owbist, I think you just fixed my problem. After becoming stuck on the deleting of the temporary files.....I skipped over a couple of steps in the repair kit. I read the part which about when suddenly messages that you sent are no longer being sent to the "Sent Folder". That is exactly what is happening here. The first step to try....was to compact all folders. That fixed my problem! I am no longer sending multiple emails. Sent emails are going to the Sent Folder. Wow.....this is great !! Do you think I should go back and complete the removing of the temporary files even though it seems my problem is solved? Owbist....I cannot thank you enough. This is the best computer help website on the internet. The Computer Help Forum has gotten me out of many jams. I thank everyone who comes to this forum.....and special thanks to all who provide suggestions and solutions. Larry

Someone asked this previously and as I recall no solution was found. I just asked google about this problem and found this solution: The Send Items.dbx file has reached the file size limit (2 GB) that the Outlook Express can handle it. After send the email, OE can't copy to Send Items folder the mail that was send, and the mail stills at the Outbox folder. All my steps to solve this problem: - To backup mails inside the Send Items folder, i create a new folder and copy all mails to this new folder; - Exit Outlook Express; - Delete Send Items.dbx file; - Start Outlook Express (OE Will create a new, and empty, Send Items.dbx file). Don't know about Outlook Express, since mine is Outlook.

In Outlook, if accidently set it 'work offline', it won't send mails out. The 'work offline' option is under 'FILE'.

I had multiple phone/comp. problems untill the man replaced the line TO THE HOUSE. Lost OE completely and was irked! I kept restoring system and it came back WITH O.E.
Of course , you have to do SOME updating SOMETIMES after a restore. That was the only fix this old man knew to do and wasn't sure that it would cure my ills, but it did. I've used O.E. for so long that I just hate to TRY and go to another e mail program.

Your phone or cable line being replaced has nothing to do with Outlook Express.

I would suspect that if you've done multiple restores a setting got changed somewhere.

What happens when you try to send an email? Do you get any kind of error messages?
