I'm so sorry, Kat. I have a feeling people are just being plain lazy and hitting "forward all" instead of individually selecting names. Perhaps if you tell them by sending this ridiculous junk on they are encouraging computer problems; probably not true, but gee, why won't they do as you ask?? Not very nice of them. And no, you're not crazy for letting these darned things bug you. As sweet as you are, I guess you're going to have to send a rather strongly worded email back to these people. Maybe tell them how much it bothers you right now to read these?

Kat, Are you getting these from people you know? If so tell them if they send you any more, you will block theer address. Then do it if they don't stop.

If these are just auto generated from some unknown somebody some where, replyingn to them is useless. Bloc them also.

I use Thunderbird email and I mark those things as JUNK. After a few times they go directly to junk, or I can mark them as Junk "again".

It is just a nuisance.

I really dislike those too, and never forward them. ESPECIALLY the ones that end with "if you don't forward this to everyone you know, then you don't love God, country, etc. etc." When they say that, I can't hit delete fast enough.
Sometimes it'll be something interesting, like a list of helpful hints, but rarely.

I too don't care for them. Even if they are cute or religous or? I thought of copying the addresses listed and resend them, but that is mean and besides it gives too many people your emai.
Now I just delete.

I get so many of them, that my delete button hasn't any lettering on it anymore !! LOL

Rarely will I send a forward to anyone... and when I do, it has to be something really cool.. imho anyway.

"Friends" don't sh*t on your table. Tell them to stop or block them and they can mail you the crapola and pay to do it. I have no sympathy for people who disrespect their "friends" this way. A couple times, yeah, educate them. Then warn them, then follow through. No different than giving a kid a warning. If they know you won't follow through on discipline, they won't respect you so you either do something about it or get used to being used. I don't put up with that garbage. Yes, some people have been upset, especially when I told them (finally) that I'd turn them in for spamming if they persisted. Like I said they're not friends when they do that.

Last request in a chain letter was for underwear. Now I can just see me getting 72 sized small thongs for my oversized butt! You know what happened to that email and what I told the friend that sent it.

Kat, I promise people that send such letters I will block their address. If they do it again, and I follow through.

Do what I do. I reply to sender and tell them to stop sending me these things. After about 200 times, they get it.

I know, but these aren't my just my internet friends,
they are my real life face to face friends. and I love 'em! So i won't block them. I will just continue
to ask them to not send any more!

I have asked some of my friends to take me off their mass mailing list. If they continue to send me junk like that I just hit delete, delete, delete. I rarely forward things.

Another thing you can do is set up a filter to delete anything with "Fwd" "Fw" or similar in it. The worst thing they ever put in an email client was the forward button. It's amazing how many people follow orders when told to forward this to everyone you know. It's probably the twenty exclamation points following the instruction that make them know they need to do it.

Tell them you don't want to be forced to report them to their isp as spammers. You really would hate to do it but they leave you no choice, since your requests to be removed from their mailing list have been ignored.

I am lucky and only one friend sends me a "chain letter" now and then and I just delete without opening any of her mail because I know that is what it is.

...but I did get one the other day from my cousin's boyfriend and I liked the test he wanted me to take and it said if you did it and sent it to so many people your wish would come true. Yeah right. I did send it on to a few of my best friends because I know they would appreciate the test but I added the dislaimer "if you send this on to anyone else asking them to forward this email your wish won't come true" LOL They all called me and said they really liked doing the test and we discussed what our answers were. Both my friends said they did forward it on using my disclaimer to some of their loved ones because they knew they would also like to do the test.

LOL I keep telling my one friend not to send me that stuff but she believes this chain mail works so sends it out. Even if she got an a postal chain mail asking her to send it on to 100 people she would at 48 cents or whatever it is nowadays for postage.
