Too late now, but never again unsubscribe to these. All that does is let the spammer know yours is a valid email address.

You can blacklist the sender (but that info is often spoofed). If possible, use some sort of spam filter.

What email program are you using? What ISP?

My ISP has an excellent spam filter that gets rid of almost everything before it even gets to me.

I use a local ISP and the only spam filter I use is the one they have in place, although I added a custom rule to filter out one type of email that was getting through. Since I have such good luck with the server based filter, I haven't spent a lot of time looking into client based filters. Have you checked with your ISP to see if they offer any filtering?

when you get them first NEVER open them, when you do that they know you have a good email address, also as stated never unsubscribe or reply to them either.
But when you get them do not just delete them instead send them to your junk mail file or if you have a spam detector or spam file send them there, that way your spam client can learn what you consider spam or junk and learn from what you send there. If you have your email set up with the preview pane active change it and do away with the preview pane.

And know that no matter who you are you will get this mail has nothing to do with you, we all get it. Once our email address starts being sent around on long emails that get forwarded over and over again it is a lost cause because that is exactly what the people that create those emails do it for to harvest all those email addresses.

Creating a throw away email freebie account to use to do all your signing up at forums or anywhere online is a good way to keep it on that account and not on your good account.

Remove your review pane if it is still active because that is the same as opening emails and if there is code hidden in the meassge to phone home then it does so, again telling the sender the address is real.

To remove the preview pane open Outlook Express, click View at the top, click Layout. In the new window remove the check mark next to 'Show preview pane', click Apply/OK. Done.

Te throw away address should be used for everything except family and close friends, no one else needs to know your address provided by the ISP.

What I found to do is On Inbox-Outlook Express click on the message to be removed. Then click on Message-Block Sender-or Create Rule fopr Message. If Create Rule is selected the click on Delete.

Blocking Spam is a useless exercise because they use so many addresses, you can never block them all. Just delete and move on is the best thing really.

as owbist said you block one they just use another name and come back at you it is futile to try to block all their various names.

there are also some very good free spam blocker programs, like the well known spam assassin, an open source project, it is quite in depth but there are many sites that help with providing rules and settings. And of course make sure you get the windows version of any of these type programs.

I have a couple of Yahoo sites, one for personal communication with a few friends and another for non-business use where it is required by the site such as here.

I average perhaps one spam per month.

It is unfortunate but we users are the most serious failure in creating spam. Lack of knowledge, lack of self-discipline, and a bit of denial along with perhaps laziness often open the door for those with uninvited or malicious intent.

I like all the suggestions here in various degrees. They are all worth trying. I like Albert use multiple dedicated accounts and it is almost a surprise when I get a spam in them, albeit except for one Yahoo account.
