I entered into a live chat with Taxcut. They said TC could be used w/o pdf995. I removed Pdf995 and PdfEdit995 from my computer. I ran thru a preliminary tax prep. I was able to print forms "for" and "not for" filing. I was able to modify the forms ie change input. Conclusion; Pdf995 was merely a Gift from Taxcut. Thankyou thankyou Taxcut, benefactor of all mankind. How would I ever fill in an otherwise dull existence w/o these projects? With each update the Pdf995 gets re-installed (and offed). I don't know why you're getting that message. You don't need to buy Adobe Acrobat to read a PDF document. You can just download the free Adobe Reader. The versions of Adobe Acrobat that you have to pay for are for those who want to create fancy PDF documents. Also, there are many other free PDF readers available. The one I prefer and use is Foxit Reader, which would works at least as well as Adobe Reader and has a program only about 1/10 the size. Here is a link that might be useful: Foxit

The PDF-XChange Viewer download really helped me with being able to fill in the scanned forms. Also CutePDF was extremely helpful in converting my Word created documents into PDF forms that could be filled in on the PDF Xchange program. I plan on using it to convert all docs I email as not all offices have Word wordprocessors to be able to open them up. I was unaware of the pitfalls of sending Word documents by email instead of printed hard copies as I had always done.

If you chose to install the reported application please be alert for any and all additional offerings. In past times CNET has gotten negative exposure in accusations that it is piggy-backing third party software on their site's offerings. Users seem to be divided on the claims, and supposed concerns do occasionally appear here. One can never be too careful. DA
