Yes, it's quite possible to use a cell phone to connect your laptop to the Internet. It's called tethering. Now, your phone may not have that capability but many "smartphones" can. Unfortunately, it tends to be a bit expensive. You'll need to pay for voice service, a data plan, and typically an additional fee of $20+ per month for tethering. Connection speed can vary widely as well, depending on the quality of the connection wherever you are using the laptop. There are also standalone devices that allow a wireless connection as well. I checked to see what add-ons I have.. I only have WOT, the dictionary, Java concole & Adblock plus. I disabled WOT & so far it seems to be running better. I would hate to be without WOT. I also went into AVG & unchecked "display notification window while E-mail is being scanned" also unchecked "display E-mail scanner related tray notifications" If these need to be checked I can always redo that. So far I have only had actual E-mail notifications. I will reinstall as a last resort.

you can not use a plain usb cable you have to have a special cable that is used just for that. NOT good. YOu can also just get a usb flash drive and move you stuff from your pc on to the flash drive and then plug that into the other pc and transfer it over, they are great for that and cheap. Or get an external CD drive that can be plugged in to any pc and use it to burn cd, or a usb external hard drive, which is a great thing to have anyway so you can keep our files backed up to it. I have one of those cables but never much liked it, I prefer to use a thumb flash drive or a usb hard drive that is the way to go. I just saw a 4 gig Kingston flash drive on www.buy.com for around $10 with free shipping. be sure anytime you connect anything to your pc through a usb port that you always click on the safely disconnect hardware icon in the try by the clock and select to disconnect the item and wait till it tells you it is safe. Ha, no other takers. Try the following. First, I'll assume the two PCs have distinct names and are connected to a router (any combination of WIFI, ethernet or both). Also I assume both have the needed drivers installed for the printer. Pick one PC to be "home base". Connect the printer to it and then install the printer as a network printer as follows: Control Panel Printers and Faxes Add a Printer (Printer Wizard Starts) Next Choose "A network printer or a printer attached to another computer" - Then Next Choose - Browse for a Printer - Then Next You'll See the printer, highlight it. Next Choose yes to "Do you want this as default printer" Done. STOP HERE Before leaving this PC, go back to the Printers and Faxes page under COntrol Panel, Highlight the printer you just added, click on Share This Printer, then give it a name and then OK. Go to the Second PC, repeat all the same steps. When doing Browse for a Printer, you'll see the printer on the other PC, choose that and continue until you reach STOP HERE.
