slider bar vs. hand-held on shower head arm?
Comments (2)Are you going to have a standardd shower head too? Because the benefits of having both are great. First, it's just the two of us as well and we still had the slide bar secured so it could double as a grab bar. You know just in case there's ever a slip. Then we also wanted the advantage of being able to adjust the height of the hand held. As it turns out, we can use both the slider & the shower head at the same time and boy is that wonderful! Basically with the slider you have more options for height and a secured slider can be a safety feature. Even if you don't need it now, for resale, that's a plus. I think for us it was one of those things where if you don't know you won't miss it, we did it for practical reasons more than anything else, then once it was in, we saw how great it is and were tickled pink....See MoreFixed shower head is way too low - please advise!
Comments (6)You could add a handheld. You might search for one that mounts wherever you want, instead of just at the same height as the present one. I don't know if the handhelds attached to a sliding bar could be plumbed straight to the existing pipe or not...but someone here will. http://www.efaucets.com/detail.asp?Product_Id=27%20142%20000 Here is a link that might be useful: Handheld...See Morehandheld shower on sliding bar as main shower head
Comments (23)Thanks for all the input everyone! So I think I made some decisions. I bought a handheld showerhead from Hammerhead showers. They are all metal, under $100, look nice and get good reviews. I’ll just have the showers plumbed with a regular showerhead pipe and then install the hand held showerhead as the main/only shower head. For my son’s bathroom, I bought this suction cup handheld showerhead holder that we can place lower down for him. It was $15 on Amazon. I just need to find a tub spout and shower diverter now. When we remodel, the horizontal bar won’t be there any more....See MoreShower head option: Handheld only or Handheld + fixed?
Comments (0)All my life I've used a handheld shower and I love it. But I'm doing a bathroom reno and when I was at a showroom they had a lot of fixed shower head + handheld combos. I'm wondering what the benefits are of having both? The handheld can function as a fixed showerhead already. I'm thinking it'd have these benefits: I can have the fixed showerhead on the wider spray option, and then the handheld on a more concentrated spray. Then I don't need to keep toggling between settings on the handheld. The fixed head would be in the exact position I like, compared to the handheld where I need to place it back in the holder and twist it til I'm happy. The question is are those worth the extra hassle of needing to use the diverter to switch between them constantly. The Delta In2ition 2-in-1 with the magnet looks like an interesting option, but the reviews about the magnet sometimes failing would make me paranoid. Thanks!...See Morepbx2_gw
