Yes they should open just fine in Sumatra. And if they should be something special that only adobe can view(rare).. you can reinstall adobe reader,,,, .. new version out today. Firefox I saw a message board todays new standard version reads PDF too. So if you use firefox.. you don't really need adobe or Sumatra or anybodys for basic PDF's.

Try double clicking the top window bar ? Or press F11 ? Or click the little square immeadiatly left of the little x at the uppermost right corner of the window.

It does sound like they got reader on your pc now and not the full acrobat. They may have thought they were doing a security update and not realized it was a different program, which would not surprise me for geek squad. here are some options for you. If so if you hilight it does it give you an option to repair? IF it is still listed then try going to your programs folders in explorer and finding the executable file for it and seeing if you can double click on it. IF the program is still on the pc you should be able to get it back up.

RC, one of your links said to look for these...... "install_flash_player.exe" and "install_flash.exe" I did a search on my C drive for both and found neither. My Plugins show this for the latest entry: "getPlusPlus for Adobe 16244 1.6.2.44" Now I recall yesterday morning, as I was working in Excel, suddenly my mouse was acting up...would highlight when I was trying to type, wouldn't switch from caps and lower case, etc. I rebooted and all was fine...except I was prompted to download the newest update for Firefox. I didn't do it at that time. Last night I decided I'd do "check for updates" for FF. It said there was one so I said to download it. Just afterward, the Adobe Flash prompt popped up so I thought it was connected to the FF update. However, I did not allow access to the internet for the Adobe PlusPlus request via Zone Alarm. My daily AVG didn't catch anything this morning (and I see from Virus Total's list that it might not). I ran Malwarebytes yesterday after the computer acted funny and it was negative.
