Total paralysis from reading customer complaints on the internet? Brand ____ (take your pick) is so terrible nobody should ever ever buy anything from that company again. You will be remain paralyzed because everything made after 19___ is absolute crap and you should go back to woodstoves and iceboxes. You know dishwashers ruin flooring and cause housefires, so you should avoid them, too. :>) As has been pointed out with some frequency here, every company's production generates some lemons and every company, at some time or another, has some products that just don't measure up. Bad warranty service can compound that and turn a disappointed buyer into an irate and bitter campaigner. And some people just love to bash products. So, take a deep breath, calm down, and, as you are new here, let me offer some suggestions. 1. Advantium: apparently you do not realize that, over the years, there have been a lot of postings here on Advantiums and other "speed" ovens. Try "gardenweb + advantium" and "gardenweb + speed oven" as a search string in Google, Bing, Ask, whatever. Maybe the NSA and the FBI can find some secret web info for you. The news in the last couple of days is that they've got some really spectacular search engines. ;>) 2. Cafe refrigerator? Same thing. Posting a specific model number may help. Better yet, post what you want --- capacity, size, type (French Door, simple bottom freezer, top freezer. SxS), do you want through the door ice and water, and you want counterdepth or standard depth? You will find a lot more helpful advice about alternatives if you can be specific about what you want. 3. According to Consmer Reports' annual membership surveys, GE and LG have been the least reliable brands (GE because it was outsourcing to LG), with ice and water dispensers being responsible for half of the problems. Last year, GE again started building its own fridges at a revamped plant in Kentucky, and those models are supposedly more reliable. LG has reduced its defect rate, but is still the least reliable brand. Cafe models that have been around for longer than last fall are going to be one of the older ones from the bad old days where you have a higher change of defects than with other brands. 4. Kitchenaid dishwasher? Well, which one? Or, will any Kitchenaid do and you just want somebody to tell you to disregard all the bad press about the brand? You can search on "kitchenaid dishwasher + gardenweb." Again, there are lots of threads here, but it helps to be specific about models. 5. Another suggestion: Consumer Reports. Either subscribe on-line (abbout $30 for a year) or go to a public library and find the printed edition with appliance reviews and brand reliability surveys. I like the ovens because they are one of the only models that still have a knob control option. Solid, but not spectacular. Hoods OK, overpriced. DW, kinda a dud, considering price. Built in fridges: Older generation 36" models are solid but quality is declining as is fit and finish. Stinker, considering the cost realative to SubZero. Their new fully integrated line has a better fit and finish, but doesn't have the track record for me to comment on how it'll last. At only $500 less than it's rival, not worth the gamble. Range- decent product, but they change the builder every couple of years so it's not consistent. The burners of a few years ago were fine for simmer and full blast , but lacked real control in the medium ranges. Grill was pretty versatile too. Micro - stick with Panasonic or Sharp $200 models Advantium - I'm not a fan of lightbulb ovens. The 120V model is a joke. 220V is too much $$$. Warming drawer is nice, especially if you like,use the fitted containers. Cooktops - cannot comment. Rangetops - see Range above. FWIW - I would NEVER install appliance from only one manuf. EVER ! A lot of GWers will tell you the same.

Great Advice, PeterH2. I love the great big window on the Elux oven door, how cool the door stays, the huge (wavetouch display which "to me" is intuitive) and easily read without my glasses. Throw in the fully gliding out racks, (smooth as silk) even after 5 years, and an oven that understands "C" or "F" degrees, I have no idea what temp scale Miele's use, but it ain't one of the above-----Need proof, just do a search for Miele oven temperatures. Miele does make a great dishwasher however, We have the Optima, again for 5 years now and it has "somehow" managed to keep up with the reliability of my other Elux appliances---Speed Oven, Induction cooktop and wine fridge. I do not recommend buying Elux DW's or their fridges. As has been said , time and time again here, No appliance maker makes the best appliance for everything, Elux and Wolf have it right on the ovens, Miele the DW's. For a fridge I would at least look at the Jennairs, it is usually the #1 rated fridge for reliability per folks that responded to surveys by Consumer Reports, yep, top of the heap, can you guess who was on the bottom, reliability wise?, alto now I think they are 3 up from the bottom, at least last time I checked. If you are a serious cook, which your post seems to indicate, then U really have 3 choice, Capital, Blue Star and possibly American Range--all high powered open burner gas ranges--alto my induction unit will blow the socks off any of those when it come to boiling water, precise and instant temp control, ease of cleaning etc, but I do recognize that there are still "Gassers" in this World!! Good luck on your hunt, hope it works out as well for you as it has for us, 5 years later, and still no service calls cept for a loose handle on the speed oven. Gary

I bought my appliances at Show Low, AZ Lowes in early 2020. Wasn't told they were floor models, bought the extended warranty also. Didn't deliver and when I called was told the cooktop was missing a regulator so they ordered a new one. The other appliance is a double wall oven also a floor model. Finally got them delivered. They were purchased for a new house in TX. Didn't get to move when scheduled due to the pandemic. Moved in Jan. Had gas lines run to the new house for the cooktop. First installer finally came 6 weeks ago to measure, etc. He told me the oven had the wrong power cord on it, I needed the outlet for it changed and have the circuit upgraded. He quit so the company declined the installation. Last week a new installer came. Neither of the appliances has any internal parts have power cords changed so only lights work and the heat source can't be activated by customers. Paid for the installation through the local Lowes, Bastrop, TX. Now nothing can be installed and repairs probably aren't possible without totally rebuilding it. Manufacturer warranty expired before I even bought them and the Lowes Protection only covers installed appliances, funny they sold it to me knowing they weren't installed. Call and call and sometimes someone answers someone always has to talk to their manager who isn't there right now but they will take a message and have them call me back. Still waiting and I call about every other day. Have even been into the store and been told the same. Oh and the store where I purchased it says I signed an as-is document, that they can't produce because I never signed one. I would never have purchased floor models I was told they were special orders that had not been picked up. Boy have I learned a lesson.
