Quite a few went to my preschool, and the others to charity. I have to say, I don't miss them - but it sounds like you found a great solution for storing them! Sheryl

If to be painted, I recommend checking out TruStile. Great product, can accommodate nearly any style, and they in fact stand by their work. I have them in so many different forms- pocket doors, hinged doors, even a couple of heavy sliders (very tall, due to ceiling height) and they're the least thing I ever worry about. During the build, we had a couple that showed up a bit warped. Not to worry- they made them again, expedited the shipping and boom- we still stayed on schedule. Yep- my GC had a lot to do with that, as he has a relationship with the local supplier of the doors, who in turn has a big relationship with TruStile. By myself? Who knows who would have listened to me/responded that well? Get pros on this. EDIT: I should also say that I live in a fairly high humidity area. MDF solid core is very stable in this environment.

lynnsae- Not clear to my why you would want a lock that poses a safety issue in an emergency with a child or an elderly person, or just anyone who might have a fall. I suggest that you get a lock that still allows it to be unlocking from the outside, but just not such an easy-to-use design as the one you showed. This is what I have on my bathroom pocket doors: Schlage pocket door lock It's simple, inexpensive, and never needs adjusting (unlike many pocket door locks that act up with seasonal changes). It's mounted on the face of the door and is hidden when the door is open. When the door is fully closed you push on it, and it pops out: it's mounted immediately next to the jamb where the pocket is so that it butts into the door jamb if anyone tries to slide the door open. The emergency release is a tiny hole on the outside of the door that allows you to stick something like a paperclip wire in and pop the lock into the open position. Not laughing! My first attempt was blue painters tape. If I can find something that works and requires no install, I’ll be a happy camper! It is been forever since I’ve seen or thought of those rubber door stops. I wonder if they’ll have enough friction to keep out my lab?? She is pretty strong and I had to buy door knobs for the house since can operate the levers.. Fortunately, the stoppers don’t cost much, so I won’t be out much if they don’t work. If we needed a permanent fix, I wouldn’t worry so much about cost and just buy the real locking door knobs.
