For the ceramic bunnies: check out Walmart, Big Lots, Ross, TjMax, Marshalls, I have bought lots of ceramic bunnys there, even the dollor stores have had some decent ceramic bunnies. You could have pastel ribbon running thru the tiers, you can add jelly beans and the chocolate eggs, real dyed eggs or the fake sparkly eggs they sell in the stores. Daffodal flower heads, tulips etc along with other Spring flowers. Add little patches of the pastel "grass" or go more real with some of the moss you can buy in packages at craftstores and Walmart. Tiny wicker baskets with jelly beans or choclate in them placed on the tiers. Buy the cute yellow baby chicks... I'll try to add more ideas later.

Oh no! I can't think Easter yet! Got to finish my Valentine's decs first! Ha ha I know, it's always a good idea to plan ahead--and I think Judith is letting us know that "the early bird truly does get the worm" by buying her bunny items now while they are plentiful. If we want the good stuff, we had better look now before it is all gone.

Glad you two liked them. They were from a pattern by Annie Lange in the Feb issue of Painting magazine. I do have a scroll saw, so I just cut them out. I needed a little light hearted painting fix. I enjoy doing cute things--especially now that I have a little GD to enjoy them too. ;o) Luvs

Well ladies, I went all over town tonight and had very little luck. Target didn't have any heart shaped plates except some plastic ones. They had pink glass heart shape bowls that I loved, but they were $7 each and they only had 5. I did get 9 goblets half-price for $2. Patty_cakes, they may have been the ones you were talking about. They have bubbles in the glass. I finally found some heart shape plates at Home Goods and bought them. They were more casual than I wanted, but they only had 8 and I was scared not to go ahead and buy them. Sandi

Yep, I totally agree, the early bird gets the worm, my Very Favorite saying also, "She who hesitates....looses". LOL,
I adore it when the seasonal things come out early, it gives me time to prepare, I have found if you wait "on the season" it will be gone! I know some hate it when stuff is out early, but around here usually it is in a certain section of the store, so you can still avoid it if you don't want to be "exposed to it yet".

I can "feel your pain" Judith. I really enjoyed hitting all the stores this past week, hadn't done that in a long time. Now I want to check out some in neighboring communities to see if they have different things. But that is on hold, had my little GD today, and we are heading out to the desert early tomorrow morning for three days. Sort of hope Target doesn't put their Easter things out till next weekend--is that a terribly selfish thing to say? LOL

Luvs, The little feet are attached to an Irish Fairy I bought at T J Maxx the other night. I'm posting a pic of her today in another post.

We can't find my Valentine decos yet because DH decided to move some of my storage (see Luvs, NOT organized!) so I still do not have my Valentine's decos finished, but here's a couple of pics of my tree with some of my pink Christmas ornaments and some new ornaments I have bought or made recently.

This was a cheap gold ornament that I had hanging outside on garland for Christmas. Most of the gold was gone so I painted it with the faux stained glass paints.

Here's a close up of my white tree. It looks "cold" without my flowers and the rest of my ornies on it.

Wow, Sandi, I really love it. Your ornaments are so nice. When you had said "white Christmas tree", I had imagined the regular Christmas type tree. These white branches are perfect for displaying your pretties all year round. Did you paint the little rose ornaments? Very cute. And of course, I love the pink ornies. Luvs

That came out pretty, I love it when people use branches to show of their collections. I like that you added your "painting touch" on the ornaments too.

I tried to take some pics of the Valentine's tablesetting on my kitchen table, but as you can see, it was the wrong time of day with the sun shining in. I'll take some better ones later today.

I set the table with only 1 soup bowl (it goes with the place setting to the right of the one shown) to check out the look. I know it's supposed to go on the top plate, but I didn't want to cover my heart plate's design. I don't really need the bowl for the dinner I'm serving that night so should I remove it from the table? I still feel like I need something else on the table. I don't have any chargers that match yet, but I think I want to use silver.

My "napkins" are a modified rose fold. Luvs, I borrowed your idea using the Valentine candies. All suggestions and critiques are welcome.

Sandi, your table is beautiful! I love the decorations on the stacking plates. The heart shaped plates with the stripes look very nice against the striped placemats. What is on your table to the left of the place setting? Looks like maybe flowers and something else???

Also, did you glitter the candles yourself? I really like those!

dreamgoddess, Thank you so much for your nice words. To the left of each place setting is a napkin folded in a rose fold with a Valentine candy and rosebud laying inside. I'm still adding and moving things around.

I did glitter the candles myself, but ran out of glitter. I want to make the pink glitter stripes wider and may use the irridescent glitter inbetween the pink stripes. You can see my stripes are not too straight.

Sandy, are you planning to burn the candles...in fact, can they be burned with the glitter on them??? I think that is such a neat idea and honestly, if you hadn't said the glitter wasn't straight, I wouldn't have known it.

Wow, sandi, you did great, love the pink, your stacking plates look wonderful, love the added glitter on the candles (great idea), the sexy pink lip plates, everything looks sweet and romantic!

TIP: if you want to burn your candles, put them in the freezer first, then after they are good and cold put them back and light them, they will burn much slower.
I also love the lighting streaming across the table, it had a very inviting feel. Good photography!

Sandi, your tableseting is beautiful!! Love how the goblets look with the white dishes, and the little heart plates are too cute and add a nice little hint of romance. How about one of the candy kisses in the center of each plate? I think they come wrapped in pink, silver and fuchia.

Your little Valentine tree is adorable~looks like you've been doing it for awhile by the amount of ornamnets you have. I bought some of the pink glittery ones after Christmas at my Joann's and hope to use then on my stacking plate next year. If you have some of the beaded garland you could use that on the tree too~just a suggestion. Hope DH can find the rest of your ornaments! LOL

Dreamgoddess, I am not going to burn the candles this meal because I don't have the thingys to catch the dripping wax. And I don't know if you can burn candles with glitter. I wouldn't think the glitter itself would be a problem, but the medium that sticks it to the candles may be a small problem. I believe that you are not supposed to have candles on a table during a meal if you do not burn them.

Judith, My table is thrown together, rigged, if you will, and not proper, but it is in my kitchen and DH & DS think I'm amazing. LOL

Patty_cakes, I bought 2 bags of different kinds of Valentine kisses last week, but they are the little ones. I didn't even think about putting one of the larger ones on the plates, but that's a cute idea. I'll give it a try.

I have several strands of Valentine garland with little pink hearts in the missing decos. DS told me the other day that he has been through every box in storage and my Valentine's decos are not there. Well, tomorrow WE ALL will go through every box together. I'm sure no one went into my storage house and stole nothing but my Valentine decos! :~)

Patty_cakes, I think DH moved them (for reasons unknown to any in mankind except himself) and forgot to put them back. LOL DS usually keeps my holiday decos very well organized, but it's possible that he's the culprit! I do know that between the 2 of them they have not searched even a full hour YET! ;~)

Sandi, your Valentine's Day tablesetting is very romantic looking. You've done an excellent job setting it up and making homemade decorations such as the glitter on the candles. As for the dripping wax, you can always set a piece of aluminum foil in the bottom of the candle holder before you insert the candle. Have the foil larger and fold the edges upwards to catch the drippings. Since you'll more than likely be at the table when the candles are lit, you can keep an eye on them. Again, beautiful tablesetting.

Oh Sandi, I just got a chance to see your beautiful table. Really love your stacked plates with the pink and silver. The pink rosebuds and that greenery just looks terrific with the silver and white ornaments. I see your "touch" on the pink hearts on the ornaments. And the little heart plates look so good the way you arranged the placemat stripes at an angle. And your folded napkin with the rose and candy!!! Minnie, Thank you. I will take more pics from different angles. By next Valentine's I hope to have some pink stemware on there. I would like to move my stacking plates to the living room so I need another centerpiece for the kitchen table also.

Sandi, Everything is looking really pretty. Is that your Grandmother's tablecloth in the vignette? It looks really nice that way. What are the little flowers in the basket--look like ribbon flowers--very delicate and pretty. And the beads look nice too. Good job know you will enjoy it so much.

On the pic of your tree, there are little straight lines that look like lights. Is that something the flash caused? You have some great stuff on your tree, looks really pretty.

Aren't you proud of how your stacked plates turned out? And to think we just learned about those this Fall from Judith. They are so fun and look so elegant too. I love yours with the pink and silver. Good job, pat yourself on the back gal.

Luvs, Yes, that's my grandmother's tablecloth. I'm so proud I finally get to use it. The little flowers in the basket are ribbon flowers. I just bought the basket at one of the stores we all frequent for $1 on a clearance table. The lines are from the lights and I think it's because I didn't hold the camera still enough. I guess that's where Judith's tripod would have helped a lot.

Minnie, The branches aren't just branches. It is a real tree spray painted white and set into plaster of paris.

Sandi, I love your room. Your drapes and the rug really are so pretty and I love those chairs--my favorite style--but I don't have any. I can sure see why you wanted to use your Grandmothers lace tablecloth--that is a lovely lace pattern. Where did you find your candleabra? So elegant looking, I love it. How did you come up with the idea for using the tree branch? That is such a clever idea and such a nice way to display ornaments. Can you believe I didn't even know there were ornaments besides Christmas ones until I started reading this forum? Now I notice them everywhere I go! Luvs, The tree is really a little tree. 20 years ago we had a store that opened right after Thanksgiving and closed the first week in January. They sold nothing but Christmas items and were, to me, kind of expensive. They had 2 of those trees for $40 each. I went in the day after Christmas with my Christmas money and bought and bought and bought at 50% off, mostly crystal for my real tree. I only bought 1 tree though and I have always wished I had bought both of them. It used to be very hard to find ornaments for the different holidays to use on the tree, but it is easy now. The candelabrum was a Christmas gift to me 36 years ago and I've always used it someplace in my house. It's really nothing expensive.

Tangypsy, Thank you. I have always loved decorating for the holidays and now that Judith has shared her stacking plates and table vignettes it makes it much more fun. I still have quite a bit to buy to finish my table, but it's a start.

Wow Sandi!! I'm so glad I asked. Those are lovely pictures and I can appreciate the close-ups more now. What a clever way to do that tree. I have been "collecting" autumn colored ornaments to make a fall arrangement on the piano. I think, like you, we have to think outside the box when looking at things and see them used in a non-traditional setting!!

Very good idea, Luvs. Minnie, right before Christmas Walmart had some beautiful fall colored flowers in bouquets and swags. Looking back I wish I had bought some, but you know what they say about hind-sight.

Sandi, loved the "long-shot" pictures! The lace looks beautiful against the chair and the pink stands out so pretty.
I did not realize the tree was so big, I was thinking that you had just done a set of branches, all the ornaments look very pretty.

The tree was over 8' tall, but I had to cut it down when I bought this house as my ceilings are only 8'. I just moved it to that corner a couple of weeks ago and I'm not sure I like it there. The corner is kind of bare looking. The tree is really a little big for this house and getting kind of ratty, but I refuse to give it up until DH cuts another one down in the woods for me. ;~)

sandi - I love your Valentine table. It looks so pretty. Also, love your tree. With all the talk about Easter and bunnies, I did nothing for Valentines Day. I live on a wooded property and am thinking maybe tomorrow after work I will pick out a small scrub tree with sturdy branches, cut it down and paint it white. I have the perfect pot to "cement" it in and with some heart decorations from my red and white lodge pole tree, I think I just might be able to pull something together. It's still only January 29th LOL.

Just love the idea of the white branches. Was the tree lighted when you purchased it or did you light it? Well it looks great. Thanks for sharing the idea!

labmomma, The tree was strung with clear lights on white cords when I bought it. A couple of years ago I replaced the lights and couldn't find white cords as thin as the ones you used to be able to buy. The cords on the tree now are really too heavy to wrap around the limbs like they should be. Hopefully since white Christmas trees are becomming popular again places like Walmart will start selling the white strung lights again.
