Need St. Patrick Day craft ideas

Hi, I know Christmas isn't over yet, but I wanted to get ideas for some crafts for Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day. I've found lots of ideas for Valentine's Day, but nothing for St. Patrick's Day.

I am fairly new to crafting, so it needs to be something fairly easy to make and possibly for a craft exchange. Two of the things I love to do is baking (gifts-in-a-jar are great!) and gel candles.

Does anybody have any ideas they can share with me? (It doesn't have to do with baking or gel candles as I would like to try different things...I'm not very handy at needlework though).

You can get smooth stones and paint a shamrock on them. Attach a card that says:

IRISH WORRY STONE

Rub this stone and all your troubles will melt away because as the Irish always say: You have only two things to worry about - whether you're sick or whether you're well. If you are well, you have nothing to worry about. If you are sick, you have two things to worry about - whether you get better or whether you die. If you get better, you have nothing to worry about. If you die, you have two things to worry about - whether you'll go up or whether you'll go down. If you go up, you have nothing to worry about. If you go down, you'll be so busy talking to all the friends you haven't seen for years that you won't have time to worry.

We have also made these with the little bears about an inch high that had shamrock at their neck and called them Irish worry bears.

Irish Dew

Here is an idea for A Leprechaun Drink Poem...
Get 10oz plastic green bottles of Mountain Dew.
Make some computer labels to put over the others and call them
"Leprechaun Drink" or "St Patricks Day Brew" or "Irish Dew"
You could even do it with Beer in a green bottle.

Wow! I got my box this morning and it sure brightened my day! Carol-what a fun box!! I loved it! Got up sick today and this brightened my morning! I got a green makeup bag with travel size brush, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, and lotion in it! Perfect as always going to grandbabies and back for a night or so! 3 pair of earrings -I LOVE Them!! A large black cherry candle in a jar! Perfect! A green lizard "Iggy"-the beanie baby one! Go with my others. Shamrock body jewelry=very cool! St. Patricks Day armband with leprechaun on it. Bag of Almond Roca toffee, ton of mini Twix bars (one of my FAVS!!!!), a box of Liberty Orchards fruit and nut delights! YUM, YUM! Didn't you know I needed to start a diet-maybe next week! LOL! mona, here are the insp photos that I was talking about. From Caroloyn Roehms book. In your email that I sent to you I described (in a little more detail) using (for example) the green glass chargers from Walmart and a few other things. In these pictures you can see that she is using silver as her prefered metal, whereas you are useing pewter (which is very beautiful too!), so I am basically just suggesting a substitution of "metals" your pewter for her silver. Instead of the red glass, you would use the green glass dishes and chargers at Walmart (IMHO still giving an elegant feel to a St. Pat's table). You would use green candles in your candlesticks, and use a low lying flower arrangement in the center of your table. Use green crystal/glasses if you can find them with your pewter goblet. Or you can use your clear crystal glasses if that is what you prefer. You can use a white table cloth or not, but I think the green charger would show up best against the white tablecloth. This look I am describing is a subtle "look" for St. Pat's as far as the normal St. Pats look, but you could always add in more typical St. Pats decor if you wanted. Please be forewarned that I will have to remove these pics a week or so after St. Pats, my Photobucket is 99% FULL, so the only way I can add more photos is to remove some. So with that said if anyone likes these pictures please same them to your computer since they won't be here long. (Thanks)

DD, thank you for your kind comment :-) To be honest, I am an Internet marketer and, one day, while enjoying the holiday season, I decided to focus my marketing on holidays. So, after having created my first holiday site (Christmas related) and then the second, third and fourth ones (Valentines, Easter and Halloween) and, following the "gurus" instructions, I created that blog in order to drive traffic to these sites. But one day, some times after Halloween 2007, I ended up in THIS forum and left the holiday marketer I was somewhere on the Web... So, from a promotion blog my blog became a real holidays related blog and not only dedicated to my site updates. I thus spend a lot of time reading the posts, clicking the links, visiting your blogs and the blogs you and all of our friends mention - even if I don't add a lot of comments, I read every post ;-) Well, I still work as an Internet marketer but I enjoy a thousand times more being here reading and watching your pictures than working my online businesses (history, weight loss and tarot cards reading) ;-))) Fortunately, I have my job at school to pay the bills, lol.

Great ideas. Some do drink during the social hour. I will look up how to make the green jell-o shots. The Irish Potato Candy looks great also. Green beer sound good. All the ideas are good. Thanks. One game we are going to use was one we did at my women's club Christmas party. Need two people..blindfold one and have them stand behind their partner who has their back to them. Give the blindfolded person a bowl of ice cream and a spoon. They have to feed the person in front of the all the ice cream....either reach around them or over their shoulders. It was lots of fun.

I made these one year and sold TONS of them. Have everybody yoy know save tuna or cat food cans. Sray or paint white with a brush. Pierce either side of the rim and attach a curly wire so that it looks like a little basket. I used a cheap sponge and cut out a shamrock shape and used it to stamp dark green shamrocks along the outside edge.Then I cut squares of green celophane ( readily available at Christmas) and filled them with a few gold wrapped "kisses" and tied it closed with green ribbon. They make a cute little treat for St. Paddy's Day. I've also done basically the same thing but used a heart shape stamp and red celophane for St. Valentine"s day. Pine tree shapes for Christmas. J.
