Black Christmas Tree

On Halloween, I found this 6' tall skinny black tree at GdWl for $12.75.
I used it outside that night as part of the outside dÃ¯Â¿Â½cor.

I have since moved it into the guest bedroom and decorated it for Christmas with silver tinsel garland, white iridescent snowflakes and small silver ornies from DT, some silver cherubs/harps/ornies in a pkg. from ARC TS, and some crystal drops and a crystal angel from Hob. Lob.
The tree topper is a white angel with fiber optic wings, moving head and hands (one hand is holding a lit star) $4.25 at GdWl.

It had the original box and I just saw the same tree on sale at Hob. Lob. for $64.95!!!

Ok Miz Candy....not only ANOTHER super buy on this REALLY neat tree, but also the angel topper! The more I see these tall "skinny" trees in my web browsing for our inspiration albums, the more I like them!
Who'd have thought a BLACK Christmas tree after using it for Halloween? Well who besides YOU of course!! It looks absolutely stunning with those decorations on it. I LOVE it. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

But its not enough you have done all the neat Halloween decorating, fall stuff, AND working on the decorations for the Ladies Luncheon...you go and finish up a CHRISTMAS tree to boot. I'd be shaking my head if I could get my jaw off the floor!!

Wow -- I want to thank everyone who recommended Thymes' Frazier Fir diffuser. This is our first year with an artificial tree and I really missed the smell. Knowing GW, I did a search and found this perfect thread (!); going to the Thymes' website I found a local (I mean a seven minute drive, door to door) charming shop I'd never seen before. It was incredible! And for whatever reason, they sold it to me for $30 (it should've been $60); I protested but they said "no, that's the price." So I bought a few other bibelots to ease my conscience (and it wasn't hard because it was one of those incredible shops where you want to just move in!). Right down the street from this shop a man was offering hay wagon rides, so my four and two year-olds, husband and I all hopped on and had an incredible ride around this sweet and historic downtown. Then we found an outdoor skating rink, so we rented some skates and pulled each other around. On the walk back to our car a man was handing out homemade candy canes from his candy shop. My four year-old loves candy canes! And all of these wonderful things happened to us today because the generous people here on GW shared Thymes Frazier Fir diffuser. So now I have this gorgeous smell, know about this wonderful local shop, and had a wonderful, serendipitous Saturday. Thank you!

Oh, Christmas Tree is one of my favorites, too.... My mother sang it in German (she was of German descent from Northern Ontario, Canada, and didn't speak English until she went to school), and that's how I always remember it - auf Deutsch. When I was in 5th grade our small class was a human Christmas Tree for the school Christmas program and we sang O Tannebaum. Being the smallest girl in the class, I was the angel on the top of the bleachers that formed the "tree", and the kids all held pine boughs. I was so tiny I needed a wooden box to stand on to be seen, and the teacher was so afraid I would fall off. I was so proud because I already knew all the words to the song (LOL)! At my old business(a kennel) I used scent in various ways. I kept it super clean as a smelly kennel will turn customers away in a heartbeat. I did use those plug in scent things from Bath & Bodyworks. I loved the Eucalyptus Mint for the kennel training room. My clients always commented on how fresh the place smelled. Then I also planted scent producing plants around, mostly because I liked them, but it ended up being a great thing for the business. I had 2 Daphne Odora in the parking area and clients went nuts when they were in bloom. Then by the training field I had Osmanthus Fragrans. They bloom twice a year and clients apparently still remember the scent. One of my former clients(who became a friend) called me just last week. She moved into a new house and was on her deck and smelled a blooming Osmanthus. She told me “I flashed back to training on the field at Wolfbrook!” If someone could replicate either of those scents I’d buy it.

Another winner! I'm beginning to like the look of the slim trees too. I'm in the market for a tree this year; can't decide if I'm going to brave Black Friday or wait until after the season for clearances.

Wow, candy...out of my realm thinking of a black tree ... but this is simply gorgeous! what a combo w/the silvers & iridiscent ornies & crystal. That 'angel' is perfect ... she is beautiful! Way to go, girl! Beautiful! TFS! ~~Jeanne

It was surprising to even HEAR of a black Christmas tree so, of course, I had to tune in. It is quite lovely as everyone agrees. Another year you might enjoy spraying it with snow just to temporarily give it a revised look. If you didn't like it, a good shake outside would clean it up again. Just a thought of the fun you might have with that unusual tree. Enjoy.
