I think if you pull a color from your mosaic tiles and use it on the walls, it will be very serene. It is looking nice if you don't count that it is under construction. I can see the bones of it are good.
Hope the rest of this and the kitchen go much more smoothly. You are due some good luck for a change!

What do you think if I use the glass tiles from the shower on the walls behind the counters with the mirrors inside of the whole scheme? Would that be too much?

Jenny -- my first visit to the Bathrooms forum and I just had to pipe in how fabulous your bathroom looks. I don't know anything about the troubles you've encountered along the way (and they sound frustrating and scary!) but I really hope you are able to enjoy the serenity your bath-in-progress is already promising ....

That would be bold and very cool if you did all those mosaics. I figured by now you were looking for the simpler (cheaper) way to go.
Of course, you could always paint now and add the mosaics later if you still wanted (and could afford it). I know your many projects and problems have beaten up the budget pretty badly.

I'm back -- thank you for your nice words and wishes! I was thinking about your bathroom last night and what I thought was exactly what ritamay suggested -- it would keep the continuity of the mosaic band in your shower without overwhelming the space. Although, because the cabinetry / countertop / sink / faucet (etc.) are so beautiful in their simplicity, it might be fun to first just paint and then live with it, seeing how you feel when in the bath. (i.e., "I miss a pop of color over here!" or "I love having the mosaic in just the shower -- it's such a beautiful focal point.") You clearly have a great eye for clean lines / spaces that it'll come to you. I'm looking forward to seeing more. -Brooke

Thanks everyone. Brooke and ritamay- I appreciate your thoughts! I think a strip would be more subtle, less expensive and less hassle than the whole back wall. In fact, this wasnt even the glass tile that I wanted. The stuff I wanted was gorgeous, and completely sold out for a couple months. I think that all this brown might overwhelm the bath. Or I could just paint, not do any backsplash and wait. That may be the best route. I need to speak with the contractor and see what he is cabable of. If he cant do this, than it will be paint all the way.

dianlo, I am so emotionally and physically exhausted from this project. You are right that I just want to be done. I DREAD going to home depot now, the sight of home/remodeling magazines makes me nauseous, and I am acclimating to the drywall dust/no kitchen/one sink (which is a luxury, actually). The only thing is that the concrete backsplash is not cheap, and I almost think that I could do something better for the money, or not at all.

I like the white paint. I never use color in my paint so I might not be the best person to ask. I fell like white is a clean and neutral color.
