I've seen a couple off computers with an A named anti virus telling you windows updates is out of date. One was XP and its painful the wording and persistence of the message, and wastes time to discover how to disable that message. Thanks all. I get the message when I boot the computer. I'm not on line at all. I tried to find more info on this. I have tried to post the information I found but GW keeps blocking my post saying I'm posting profanity or illegal content!! According to Wikipedia, this is a form of virus. GW won't let me type the name. I have tried to rearrange my post so many times, I'm not sure it makes sense but GW keeps deleting my post. I don't understand what this all means but said it is involved with servers or blogs? I don't have a blog although I have read a few. There is also a suggestion about Java, but again, I don't understand. I can't offer what I discovered because Garden Web won't let me. I looked at the AVAST forum but they are old posts going back to 2010-2011. So I'm wondering if I'm infected as the warning keeps popping up? I haven't had any problems with the computer, all my scans come out clean but it seems this is something which changes code? I don't understand all the technicals of computers and not sure how to proceed. Wow, I just tried to give the link to Wikipedia and got a warning from GW that I was posting an illegal link. What the heck! Jane

unfortunately it is not the first time zonealarm has chosen some really bad marketing methods, they did one of these type some time back and of course the adding of the toolbars in the free version has had it put in the Hall of Shame for a while now. It is still a very good firewall and free is nice but I am sure many will leave them due to their methods. As to other free firewalls Online Armor and Outpost are good options. here is a list from Gizmo's Best Free Firewall I will add this, I and several others in the security community no longer recommend Comodo due to some of their business practices, so consider that before choosing it and you can of course do some research on that to find out more info. Brad: Thank you for the info. I got PlantStep back up and working last week. AdwCleaner moved it to the C drive and labeled all the files with a .vir extension. I had to use a program that will delete the .vir from the PlantStep files in bulk, reinstall PlantStep and then overlay the cleaned files back into PlantStep to get all my data and pictures back into the software. I would caution anyone on using AdwCleaner. I have a program within Windows that does a check of Services running on startup which will give me a list of programs that I might want to not have run on startup. I even disabled the AdBlockerPlus, cleared out the cache, temp files and still the issue with Houzz continues. The message is definitely being generated from Houzz. I upload photos to other sites without issue. Just Houzz has something that changed. I already got notification from Windows that my version of Windows and Apps will not be a problem with the new update. I'm still waiting for the message that I can install which probably won't happen for a few days as they roll it out.
