Comments (13)Still have issues? DDS is a program that will scan your computer and create logs that can be used to display various startup, configuration, and file information from your computer. Download DDS frrom the link below post the 2 resulting log files it creates. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/dds/ Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run. A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running. Notepad will open with the results. Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results. Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop. Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet. Comments (26)Dedtired are you by any chance using a keyboard app like say SwiftKey instead of the native keyboard? If so change back to the native keyboard and try signing in. I have run into this problem repeatedly when using my Android device and SwiftKey keyboard or other keyboard apps. As soon as I switched back to the original native keyboard it signed in just fine. Remember that there are copycat programs that try to fool you into getting them because they have a name very similar to the real thing. It is Adblock plus not anything else or similar. It will have an icon that is a red stop sign with ABP in it. There's a version for just about all the major browsers just select the right one for the browser you use. There should not be any messing up your computer by simply adding Adblock plus to the browser. However if you accidentally got one of those other sound alike programs that installed on your computer you very well may have some problems because some are malware. If you had that happen go to control panel and all programs and remove it from there. The real thing is at adblockplus.org I always recommend making sure that you have the easylist filter added to the filter preferences in the adblock plus settings and in the settings area uncheck the option to allow some types of ads....See MoreIs Gardenweb dying after Houzz takeover?
Comments (221)Haven't read ALL the comments, but my two cents is I miss the small "Let's have morning coffee together" feeling of the old format. I knew who was going to be on when, all the DIYers that HOUZZ has seemed to run off. I joined in 2008, did a DIY for Four years and now my beautiful (to me) kitchen I feel intimidated to post any pictures. Kind of feel like expectations are 180% higher! And...is there ANY way to search just in Kitchens? I'm trying to find under cabinet lighting and the only search I can find is "search all gardenweb" and I get random results! From gardening, at al, and I just want kitchens. Anyone know how to filter that?...See MoreAnyone else notice the obnoxious way Houzz is overwriting GardenWeb?
Comments (64)I cleaned my cache etc this morning and now my pages are Houzz. I had the dickens of a time trying to find the categories. I wanted to see what Hot Topics was doing, and when I clicked on Gardening, it doesn't give all the categories, as we know HT is listed below Hot Peppers. It took me right into Gardening discussions which I don't want. So now I manually change the houzz url to Gardenweb discussions OR click on my personal topics on the left. They are still Gardenweb. And, when it's Houzz, all of my discussion categories (KT, Cooking, etc) are all shown. I don't like that. I like browsing around Cooking or KT, I don't want all the discussions showing on the same page....See MoreJulia WV (6b)
