New Fittonia dying/wilting
Comments (44)Did you read through this thread? These are moisture loving plants & I know I have personally stated in this thread that I've only succeeded in growing these in Terrariums or the bathroom next to my Shower. Short answer, no I don't think you can take the bottle off w/out the plant wilting again. They really need high humidity, Smart idea this bottle & nice job. Perhaps try to fund some glass vessel to use in place of the bottle for aesthetics (if you care abt that). So you're new to Houseplants? These aren't really beginner plants as you're discovering. Maybe pop over to the Terrarium Forum & do some reading. Don't know how active it is these days. These plants won't propagate from just individual leaves alone. You need to make tip cuttings which are cuttings comprised of at least 2 pairs of leaves for these plants. Put them in soil or moist Perlite & seal in w/ a dome or Cling plastic like Saran to conserve their moisture....See MoreI found the GW Kitchen forum!! (GardenwebNewbie)
Comments (11)I agree with tmy_jax, the forums are separate. If you hover your cursor over the tab "Advice" in the upper right corner, you'll see a drop down box, with a section for the Houzz Discussions and a section for Gardenweb Discussions. I know some people read and post in both forums, but posting a question in each of the two forums would probably bring responses from two (mostly) different groups of folks. (Couldn't hurt, and it might be interesting...!)...See MoreI'll huff and I'll puff & I'll blow the Houzz down
Comments (58)plllog -- yep, reset the bookmark, and it seems to be working. In the olden days, you know, last week, I only signed in when I wanted to post (laughable, I know, like I'm actually privatizing my forum trail and someone cares) and I could just use That Home Site Forums - Gardenweb menu to look at Kitchens, Cooking, etc. If I want my topics now, I have to sign in; otherwise, I'm sent to the Garden Forum. It makes sense signing-in, I get it, but I just need to grumble a bit. And I'll whisper: this change and not knowing what the end of net neutrality is actually going to mean, makes me want to grumble, grumble, grumble a bit more:) On a positive note: I thought I was too old to learn new tricks; yet, a new talent that I've acquired is filtering out the peripheral, intrusive, embedded nonsense on the sides, top and bottom of my screen/phone. Advertisers think I see their stuff, but I don't:0) CathyinSWPA...See MoreGardenWeb peeps - if you have contacted me....
Comments (70)I may have messaged you a few months ago when you first mentioned this brilliant idea - but I'll send another one just in case. I don't have a problem with things as they are but as others have mentioned 'conversations' may be on the way out. Thank you so much for doing this. Maire....See MoreTexas_Gem
