sink dilemma - still trying to solve!

Hi All,

I posted earlier aobut my sink dilemma. I have 3 Brizo Tresa single handle lav faucets, which I love, that do not fit into the AS morning sink that I chose. (the faucet reach is too long, and therefore my kids will be forever spitting toothpaste onto the faucet). So, I am trying to find an alternate drop in sink (have finally found a fabricator that is willing to adjust sink cut-out opening on site)

I like the look of the Kohler demi Lav - as it has some similarities to the semi-vessle AS morning that I am giving up.

However - my question is - my facuets just barely reach the height requirement / clearance of 1" from the top of the sink. These are not "vessel" lav faucets. Do you htink I am just going to problems being at the minimum height clearance. Should I worry that our hands will be close to the bottom of the sink while under the faucet?

Alternatively, I could go with the AS Sebring which is a drop in sink that does not facuet holes.

Which do you think would work better with the Tresa faucets?

is the sink one that is rather flat with the corners tilting up? squarish...?

I looked up the faucet also - doesn't look to me like there should be only 1" from faucet to sink... maybe I have the wrong sink?

does the sink set down into the cabinet top?

Yes - you have the correct sink. The squarish corners are higher than the sides.

The faucet has 3 3/4" clearance from the bottom of the spout, to the deck. However, the sink sits 1 3/4" above the counter - so that gives 2" clearance from the high point on the sink (min. is 1"). I'm just wondering if this is enough to be 'functional'. Also, style-wise - do you think they go ok together - or should I just go for a regular drop-in.

Sorry about your granite. What kind was it? That's a cool sink. I don't recall seeing both kinds of mounts in one kitchen, but I'm sure its been done. And I'm sure it would be fine! For me, I think about function more than form. If the function is right for you, that's what matters.

Hm, the wood appliques are definitely interesting. That's not something I'd thought of, but I really appreciate the suggestion. EAM--my only concern is that I would have the bead around the inset drawer front as with the other drawer front. I think even if I was the only one who saw it, it would annoy me. If I can't come to an idea that I feel confident about, I may just see if I could place a chance order to get a standard sink base cabinet.

Well, I certainly couldn't have done ANY of this without all of you. I am so happy looking around my new rooms. My favorites: the furniture placement (of course), the art wall, the mantle, the 3 vases on the black tray on the table (although there may be too many flowers in them at the moment), the fabric covered shade in the dining area. the sofa table bookcase, the fireplace screen... I'm going to interrupt myself because now it seems I'm just listing all the changes. It's obviously too hard to pick just 2 or 3 favorites. Theresa, your peonies are gorgeous -- loving the size of those blooms! I hope to follow all of you as you move on to new projects. I consider each one of you a new friend.
