The pipe to the wall looks like rotted out galvanized steel pipe that was lead & oakum sealed into a cast iron fitting. You are probably going to need to remove everything back to the cast iron, then use a 'donut' to put in a new nipple from the cast iron. The horizontal run from the trap to that will use a ring nut on the end of the new pipe to seal the arm of a p-trap. The trap then attaches to the arm and the drain from the sink. It is pretty likely that the sink drain is also rotted out and will need to be replaced. You can do the work in chrome plated brass if it show, or PVC if it is hidden (or you do not care about the PVC showing). The donut is likely to be found only at a plumbing supply house since they come in many sizes depending on the inner and outer dimension of the hub they need to fit and the pipe that enters.

gee marti and I was gonna switch and agree with you on painting the cabinet brown to match the other! tho, as I look at it again paint chips easier - maybe use one of those gel stains and stain it a darker brown to go with the vanity and the shower curtain (nice curtain). I'd do the window frame too. doesn't all have to be done now tho. space it out. do what bothers you the most first. and on the wall color marti - you're probably right on that also but i don't like white on much of anything. It's too stark for me - and dangerous around me. not on walls, not clothes. really not even tubs, toilets etc. But mine are that in 2 bathrooms and will stay that way. I found it won't kill me - lol! I'm still alive after 14 yrs with an avocado tub, toilet and sink - but just barely I think. The teal elsewhere will tie the room together and bring out the teal in the shower curtain. love the counter top. didn't realize you painted the sink too. post back after a month or so and let us know if it holds up ok on the counter. I might beg you to post how you did it so I can do mine! btw, I found 2 nice over the mirror fixtures at lowes for about 30.00 each for my bathrooms. 1 had 3 globes/bulbs and the other 2. It doesn't take much to change them out. Just flip the breaker and then you need to be really really tall and have long arms - or a ladder. or both. Not that I'll be doing my own.

The tile is a killer since there is so much of it, and it certainly does make a statement. I'm guessing you're leaning towards a bit more traditional? So at a minimum? A low-budget "fix"? 1) I'd get rid of any stained surfaces (door/trim) and instead paint. 2) I'd replace the three mirrors with rectangular-shaped framed mirrors. and replace the light bars above the mirrors with sconces. 3) You can just replace the vanity as a whole. If that's too much, at a minimum I'd replace the vanity faucet. If you can go beyond that, I'd replace the hexagonal sink with a rectangular sink. If you can still go further, I'd consider replacing the vanity top too. I'd reface the vanity with drawers with frame and panel drawer/door fronts that more resemble the traditional 6-panel doors.All that', it's probably easier to just replace the vanity as a whole. 4) You can degloss and paint the shower frames to get rid of the brassy color. 4a) The brass and glass surround on the back tub could be removed and replaced with a curtain. 5) I'd consider covering the existing glass with a topical frosted film. Not sure if the existing design will shadow through the film. But look at different films, their levels of opacity, and see it it'll work. 6) New towel bars, etc, to get rid of the brass. 7) A large throw rug on the floor in front of the two pedestal sinks might disguise the stepped floor tile pattern. Wouldn't it be cheaper to just get more heads for your one electric toothbrush, rather than buy multiple electric toothbrushes and an additional charger to replace the chargers they each come with? Growing up, we had one toothbrush body and we each had our own color-coded head. Would this be a universal charger for all brands of toothbrushes, or only work with a particular brand/model? I swear the charger mounts are all different. I can't imagine this being of value to a family who might have the one toothbrush body and multiple heads, though perhaps more so for a roommate situation or if everyone is a giant germophone and needs to have entirely separate electric toothbrushes, but then again, that hinges on whether this product would be universal or limited to being compatible with a particular brand/model.
