accessing Garden Web threads

Not a big deal, just curious. Over the last week or so, when I click on my shortcut to GW Computer Help, I am taken to the main page..Previously, when I wanted to open a thread, a single click would open the selected link. Now, when I click on the thread, it takes me right back to the same page, only the thread is highlighted in green, another single click opens the thread. Double click makes no diff. Like is said, not a big deal..just wondering why the change..all caches emptied, malware scan and virus scans completed and no threats..Or am I the only one this is happening to

(...whispering, so the computer gnomes don't change things...) No changes here. Bookmark (FF 8.0) for Computer Help Forum opens to the intended thread. No green highlights. Previously viewed thread titles are in ? magenta; unopened are in blue - normal for me.

The only issue I get is the occasional green title when clicking to visit a thread. Happened as I came to this thread right now funnily enough. The second click bring the site to life :~)

1. No, not after submitted, but you can preview and double check it before you submit it. But if you really need to add something to your original post right after it is submitted just Post a Follow up. Change the wording in the Subject box so it doesn't get rejected as a duplicate post. 2. No, only the OP can choose to get reply email. 3. Yes, just click on "My Page" link after your name in any post or on "Member Pages" link at the bottom of any page to go to your personal page and once there click on See My Clippings. Dave

Thanks Carla, I'm able to get on now if I type in gardenweb.com. It brings me into the gardenweb site, and then I can click on garden forums to get to all the rose forums. It's not as nice as before, when I could type in gardenweb.com/forums, but it works. I haven't checked today to see if I can get into searching the old threads yet, but I did see yesterday that the gardenweb put up a notice that they were working on that issue. Roselvr, we use comcast. I had a lot of trouble initially getting on this site, but as noted above, since I changed my method of logging on, it's been O.K. I'm glad, as I'll have some questions to post, I'm sure, before too long. I've been really ill for the past month, so I've only been dabbling here and there. Sandy

Cool! Thanks for pointing that out Carol. As a reminder to listers..please post your USDA zone or nonUS country so that we can make comparisons to growing conditions. If you like you can also choose a profile name that's different from your user name. If you go to Your Houzz on the upper right hand corner of the screen and click on Edit Profile you can type in a name in the FIRST name box below the USER name section. USER name is your login; FIRST name will be what shows up when you post.

Just an aside, my main browser is IE8,, tried it with FF7 and each thread opens as it should, (no second click required)

I only use FF on linux so can not try IE but have had no such problems ever here at GW on any forum.

There was a concern sometime ago similar to your's, but regarding the back arrow and GW. Maybe you can find the thread for some help.

Yeah, I remember the back arrow deal, but thats not a problem..just an issue with clicking on a thread and it returns to the same page, only with the thread in green print.then having to click again to access the thread..as I mentioend, only an extra click, not a big deal..just wondering if there were others out there

Micht disable your ad blocker before a click & see if that is the reason.
