I set the resolution in Adobe Photoshop Elements. I don't know much about camera settings. Joan, Casey and others can school you on this I'm sure. I do know though if you shoot photos in the RAW settings your pictures will be huge. There is an advantage to this I'm sure but I don't know what. I crop first then enhance my photos. I don't know if there is a benefit to doing it this way it's just how I do it. I use Ritzpik to make up my photos. Here is the resolution setting Ritzpik recommends when enlarging photos: 4x6 = 1228 x 1842 5x7 = 1535 x 2149 8x10 = 2456 x 3070 wallets = 691 x 921 10 x 13 = 3070 x 3991 Don't worry too much about the details at first Nola. The best part of digital photography is that you can afford to shoot lots of pictures while you figure out what works best. The internet can help too. Just google your question and you'll get answers. I don't understand aspect ratio and user defined very well either. I'm glad you asked! We can both learn something today. Have fun! Lori

I haven't checked this post in quite awhile. I got this computer sometime around 2002. I could have gotten XP then. I sure wish I had made him give me my copy of XP as I furnished my own 98. A little late now. I guess sooner or later I'll have to bite the bullet & get it. I just hope I don't lose everything when when it is done. I have a zillion PSP tube LOL & would hate to lose them. They are on drive D so maybe I won't. Most of my PSP filters are on drive D also. I need to backup my filters. I have a burner but haven't used it in a LONG LONG time & don't even remember how. I don't even have the program installed anymore. My son found out the hard way if your XP is pirated U can't put in some new programs. He bought his computer USED from a shop. It had XP but was an illegal one & he didn't know it. He now has a legal one in it. His was XP professional. The HOME one may be different. I just got NetScape 7.1 last nite. I only use it for mail but my old 4.7 quite working all of a sudden when NS did some changes. I wish I could get a CD for it like I did the 4.7 I had. I can't upgrade as higher doesn't support mail. Most of the time newer isn't better.. just harder to use. Dar

Well, I got it finished, now I just have to do a final print. What I finally did was scan each page individually, then went into Word and inserted each page. Landscape, .5" margins, 2 columns, more columns-(changes spacing) 4.5" margins, & 1.5 inches between columns. Then inserted page 1 and page 3, the next was inserted as page 4 then 2. This way, when I print the front then the back, the pages end up where they are supposed to be! I worked on it all evening last night, then started again this morning at 6:30, and finished it at 7:30. As I said, now all I need to do is print it and bind it. I will also put a note in my notebook of tips and tricks I have aquired over the years on how I did it for future reference! Thanks again for all the help and suggestions Tami
