My Small Thanksgiving Table for Four

Just four of us this year.

Sorry this is so big. I have a new MAC and am having trouble adjusting.

Delphinium, Your Thanksgiving table is so elegant. I love it. Everything is so very pretty, the leaf plates, beaded placemats, little pilgrims. And I love your silver. I know yall will really enjoy sitting at such a pretty table. Happy Thanksgiving.

It looks so pretty. Love the leaf plates with the charges and the beaded place mats and acorns. I need to get some acorns.

I just opened this thread today and read through everything. This was like a "Judith" lesson on building a vignette! Shee, your centerpiece is lovely. It has reallly transformed over the course of this thread from OK to great. I love the fabric that you first added. It really changed the whole look. Then adding height...The basket brings it together. I, too, like Betty's idea to spray paint it darker - I think it will "ground" it. I especially like the link you found with the white pumpkin on the pedestal with the fall arrangement. I'm going to shamelessly copy that one! You are definietly going to WOW your Thanksgiving guests.

Kathleen, Your tables always amaze me. Where do find all your energy????? If I do a nice tablesetting a month I'm feeling pretty "Martha Stewarty" I look forward to all your Holiday 2008 tablesettings. Each one I see with the pumpkin bowls just makes me more jealous that we don't have CTS on the west coast.

Hi Everyone. Thanks for the welcomes. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The last of our guests left this afternoon. so I am lying on the couch watching videos on Christmas decorating because I am too tired to do anything else. The seating arrangement worked out well, and almost everyone came back Friday evening and we ate the leftovers. My parents went home on Sat., and my DS and DDIL and two little ones today.Whew, I have to go to work tomorrow to rest. Love having them all here though. Now on to the Christmas decorating....tomorrow.

DREAM! DREAM!! DREAM!!! You are the answer to my prayers. Well, one of them anyway! LOL I must know all about your glasses. Aunt B had just one and I haven't been able to find anymore, anywhere, or find any info about them. I'm going to go write down 'Indiana Recollection' down right now and stick it in the glass so I will at least remember the name to search for now!! They are the same aren't they? I'm sooo excited!!! Please excuse my blue bedroom shoe in the background! I was trying to get a good shot to send to my niece who is helping with the hunt for these illusive glasses. I have some little saucers to go with your pink dinner plates. I also, was bummed because the color doesn't show up as much as I want it to. I was hunting for the green salad plates exactly like your pink dinners and the pink dessert dishes for a tablescape I was trying to copy. I only found these.. Oh Girl, I didn't mean to highjack your Thanksgiving tablescape post, but you have NO IDEA how frustrated I've been trying to find these glasses! I've been all over creation with my 1 little glass to every GW, TS, SA, and antique shop trying to find them. Thank you so much for using them in your post. What a Thanksgiving present!! NOW GIVE ME ALL OF THE DETAILS!!!! QUICK!! Hurry, I'm getting lightheaded! OK, OK I'm calming down now. Deep breaths, deep breaths. Back on the subject... You know I love that centerpiece from all of the gushing I did in your other post. Adding Mr Turkey really made it Thanksgiving. He's sooo cute! Great minds think alike. I think we all fell for those lovely turkey plates this year. I know I did! I LOVE all of your candlelight shots. What a beautiful table to enjoy Thanksgiving at. Your centerpiece is wonderful, and I too really love those leaf plates. The design in the tablecloth and those beaded placemats just look so elegant. Beautiful table, hope you and your family really enjoyed it. Luvs

I took one look at this table , showed it to DH, and said,"This is out of my league".

So very elegant and dramatic. PERFECT

such an elegant setting, and the leaf plates are wonderful.

Thank you for all your nice comments. This was a fun table to put together using pieces I have gathered over the last 32 years. Obviously I don't throw anything out! The brown goblets were my registry choice for my wedding 32 years ago. Remember the 70's and everything brown? The gold chargers were Target clearance about 18 years ago. The gold leaf glasses were thrift store finds about the same time. The beaded placemats and leaf plates were TJ finds last year. The s&p's I've picked up over the years at after holiday clearance. The copper colander I used for the centerpiece was a GS find. I had wanted to use a real pumpkin hollowed out for my vase but none to be found in the grocery the night before Thanksgiving. My favorite piece was my "tablecloth". I found that Sunday at Hancocks (fabric store) on the 50% off remnant table. I placed it diagonally over the table and didn't even hem it. I just "fringed" the cut ends. I decided I wanted something paisley from doing the lessons in Judith's class. I would not have used as many layers before doing her assignments. It's fun to combine all the different elements. Previously I would not have thought to combine the gold chargers with the copper beaded placemats but I liked how it turned out. Now......on to the serious holiday decorating!!!

I was just going to post that I really love that paisley tablecloth. It's really wonderful, and brings everything together. Great job...the dishes are wonderful too.

Delphinium, I'm glad you described the items you used on your table. I didn't see that your floral container was a copper colander. Now THAT is an original idea and one I hope to borrow (as soon as I find a copper colander). The paisley fabric you used for your tablecloth is a perfect match and getting it for 50% off was a great deal. It is truly a beautiful table.

Yes, I was a bride of the 70's! My Mikassa kitchen dishes were brown with a zig zagged color edge...brown and gold!
And let's not forget orange...I still have some towels I use for rags..orange..but they sure lasted then!
The table looks very elegant!

Wow!! Another lovely table. I think the copper colander worked out very nice and has a nice shine to tie into all your place settings. I like everything about your table... very elegant and simply beautiful.
