I'm more of a reader then a poster, but I have jumped in when there is something I know I can help with like using MSNTV2/Webtv or digital camera related subjects. As far as computers....I learn something new here everyday and this forum has kept me out of trouble many times over the years *lol*

I started visiting here in 1998 before I even had a computer (using my WebTv) and when I finally got one I had so many questions. This was the place to find the answers and it still is!! My computer "angel" back then was Dreamweaver and she is still missed dearly (RIP)

Welcome aboard. We get alot of people in the Kitchen and Home Deco forum that introduce themself this way as well. It's always nice.

As you may have noticed, people here are a great help, and I know if I have a computer problem, I can usually get it solved here or at least I'm steered in the right direction. (Much obliged)

Hi Fred,
I'm afraid I'm one of the very newbies who jumped in and asked for help without formally introducing myself.

I do frequent the Vermicomposting, Kitchen Table and Houseplant forums. The comphelp was recomended to me from one of the members in one of the other forums. I didn't know this site existed!

I did ask for help and the input and suggestions were amazing. My problems were fixed, and I thanked them publicly. So this is as great a community as the others. For some reason, I thought it would be just a techno...ask your question and get a response in language I couldn't understand, but NOT the case at all. I never thought to introduce myself, but these are warm, real live bodies on the other end, helping all of us.

So a huge THANK YOU to the CompHelp people for being who you are, and being there.

Gardenweb is my favorite website! I tell everyone I know about it. I first found it due to my love of gardening but have asked questions on several forums and get answers within the hour most often. It's truly amazing.

I love my computer and the people at this site have answered many of my questions and I am so grateful.

I wish I could give back a bit more but find on this site anyway, I am still much the novice in spite of having a computer for 9 years and taking lots of classes. I think if I was 20+ years younger this would be easier.

Since we all enjoy computers here I think it's ok if I mention an organization that has wonderful classes for seniors (those of us over 50) all over the nation. The organization is called SeniorNet. I'll give the link below. They teach classes at what they call "learning centers." I'm lucky to have 3 centers within 10 miles of me but strangely enough there are none in San Francisco, my closest large city. I do believe centers can be opened where there are people willing to organize it.

Pass this on to your parents if there is a center near them. It's a real gold mine.

I'm with damccoy. Almost everyone at our "senior" breakfasts says "geezer", occasionally "curmudgeonly geezer".

Some of you guys are too funny. I am enjoying the site quite a bit. It is nice to see everyone get along.

I still miss Spewey. He was always so patient and kind when I was starting out. I wish the old bunch would pop in now and then.

I am like Ginny. Although I use the computer all the time for work and pleasure, I just can't understand it. When it works it works well - when it screws up (or I do) it can be so infuriating.

Thanks to all on this forum who have put up with me and my problems all these years. Really great people!

One of the first things I learned here was to try to help yourself by googling your problem. And also that whatever you try, YMMV.

Dreamweaver was the best "Googler" I have ever come in contact with. The way she could ferret out information from the Web was just amazing. With enough time I do believe she could locate anything.

Plus what truly earned my personal respect was she didn't plagiarize the information as her own or create links to appear as if she had an infinitesimal amount of browser bookmarks. She gave credit and source their due. A fine lady.

Gosh...I can't believe I'd forgotton about Sally-Ann.
She rode herd over this place and kept it in line, I'll tell you.
I talked to her (e-mail) quite a bit during her last year year, as did many people who were here at the time.
She was some lady..and had a wonderful family.

Welcome to the Computer Help Forum! There are a lot of nice people on this forum. I have been here since 2001 and I have learned a lot from some really great people here.
Dreamweaver was the best and I miss her also.

When I first came on here I was really nervous because I only knew one person and she talked me into coming here and I am happy that I did. I remember Shaboom being one of the first ones to come on to welcome me to the forum. Thanks Bob, I've never forgotten your kindness. "Smiles"

When I first came here there was no conversation side and when they put it in, we were able to talk to one another about other stuff and got to know one another as well. We've had some fun times and sadly some of those very nice people have left and they will also be remembered from those of us who got to know them. We always welcome new members and look forward to making new friends, that's what makes this forum so special.

As you know things change a lot with technology and it is hard sometimes for us to keep up with all of it and when something knew pops up that I don't understand, I post it and these wonderful people are here to help out. I am always learning something and I save it in case that problem ever happens again. I trust the people here to give me good advice when I need it and at the same time I am growing as well. I am sure that you being here will be a great addition to this forum.
