outlook express- does it have spam catagory?

Does the outlook express have 'spam' area like yahoo?

A friend has been sending some emails/pics that she sent to the wrong emai one I rarely use, but there isn't anything there. Where does spam go with OE?

Spam doesn't go anywhere in OE. Your ISP may have a spam folder though on the web, contact them.

the first time i used the web to access my mail it was called bulk folder. i quickly deactivated it. i found emails in it from family members.

As a user stuck on an antique DUN I recognize your concern regarding your e-mail. It is my guess you are not speaking of your e-mail in general, but rather e-mails that are graphic intensive or have photo attachments. Since you are on a DUN it will make little difference if you convert to a web-based account or not. Your system will still have to download the e-mails and their attachments into a temporary file for the web-based client to open them. There are a couple of things that you can do, but I am going to wait to see if my assumption is correct. I do as Gene reports and automatically purge my deleted e-mail upon closing Windows Mail, and previously OE. Take a moment and disable your anti-virus. Then send yourself a test email with a small amount of text content. Maybe a small paragraph or so. Any change. Following the test, please remember to enable your AV. DA

No - I checked that. I have googled and found a few instances of this problem - and they all seem to relate to IE8. No real solutions, though some have seemed to correct it. I guess I can save the attachement and just open it from my desktop. Thanks for your input RC.

Update: I just called her on the phone. She does not use Outlook. She uses something like ATT Yahoo for her email. When she goes into Programs....and tries to open Outlook Express, she gets some message that mentions there is an error....and goes on to talk about a POP server....and other things way over my head. I suggested that she call her provider for some help. It was over my head. I thank you raven and Bob for your messages. Larry

minnie, not sure what you mean. for saved mail you make folders, then click on edit/move susie's message to susies folder.

Minnie to create new folders in OE is very easy.
Open OE
right click on 'Local folders' on the left side
A popup appears, click 'New folder'
type the new name in the box where the cursor is already blinking
click OK
Done.

Repeat as often as needed

you can also make a folder in locals like owbist instructed and name it "friends" or "family" for example, then make other folders in side it. it makes the list shorter. i made one for internet transactions, internet friends, etc. with sub folders.
