By mistake I dragged the launch IE (shortcut) icon off my taskbar onto my desktop how do I go about getting back on the taskbar?

Thats probably was on your QuickLaunch toolbar. Default location is sort of next to the Start Button ?

Usually a couple other shortcuts there, just drag and drop it between two ... kind of a hard place to drop in the right spot sometimes.

You can...
Open the folder with a path something like this and drag and drop it into there, then drag it around on the QuickLaunch toolbar to get things back in order like you like.
C:\Documents and Settings\mike\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

(Sometimes quicker/easier, for me anyhow, is to open the popup and duplicate an existing icon with the make shortcut, then do properties on it and change it to IE path.)

Mikie, I could just kiss you! LOL.

I have been trying to drag this back into my taskbar for some time.

to get to the windows update site click on start then all programs then at the very top select windows update it will take you to the windows update site allow it to scan your pc then select custom to view the updates you have available to install, all critical should be done. This will not affect any thing you already have set for your automatic windows updates. If you do have any updates you have blocked in the past it will alert you to that fact and ask if you want to unblock them at this time. Now that you do have IE7 you do need to go ahead and go to the windows update site and get any updates that may be available for it.

"Everytime I start Windows Explorer 8 the web page displayed does not open on the full screen,I have to keep dragging down the bottom of the frame to the taskbar. Removed IE7, now have no IE?

I reinstalled IE7 since the download that's supposedly for IE6 SP 2 doesn't say IE, it just says XP SP2. I don't understand. And something was wrong with the download or something. It was running slow & a couple tries got me some sort of error page I didn't make note of. Anyhow, after re-downloading IE7 I'm still getting the original error, practically every time I close out of IE. It's not the one I got after removing IE. "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for this inconvenience." I did a print screen of error screen & the two following pages; Report Contents & Error Signature Reporting Details, in case Best Buy can figure out what the deal is when I take it in for its next 'under warranty' visit. I'm just going to post a different thread about which IE tab is best for Mozilla so I can run McAfee Spyware Scan via Comcast on Mozilla. Computers frustrate me.

Hi everyone, I found this on a website that tells you how to do it in Firefox. Open up FireFox and then go to view, then go to Zoom and you can Scroll down and select the 'ZOOM' option, then slide across, then down and select the 'ZOOM TEXT ONLY' option which should put a check mark by it. Now scroll back up and select the 'ZOOM IN' option to enlarge the text that you view on any website. Each time you go back and select the 'ZOOM IN' feature, the text will get larger. If you want to make the text smaller then go to Zoom Out And to get back to where it was before you started simply select the 'RESET' option. I did that here and it has stayed where I put it. You can do this as you move from site to site and it will stay the same as long as you have the check mark in "Zoom Text Only" That is what I found in my search, you can check it out to see what you get, so far this has worked. thirdfrt!!!
