Hi caroline, Did you ever straighten this out? I have IE8. In the command bar at the top right of the screen you will find "TOOLS". If you do not see command bar,click on the area that zep516 recommended in his last post. Though the "tools" option in this area will not serve your purpose. His info. "should" be found in the upper left area of your screen. This should open a little window. Scroll down to command bar. Enable, if it is not. Click on tools in command bar, scroll down to full screen, enable. This will "hide" all the bars and extend edges to the limits. To "un-hide" bars, just scroll pointer to top of screen and all enabled bars will re-appear. damccoy has simplified this task for us,too! I know nothing about the simplifications of using my Function Keys. Thanks da for the info!(smiling) bbbluz

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. Lukkiirish, your bathroom transformation is beautiful! I think I do want to make the window at least a little larger but it is a concern that the larger window could make the room colder or hotter depending on the season. The bathroom window is on the side of the house that we never see. From the outside it looks like a little slit on a big wall. There is only one other window on this wall so a bigger bathroom window definitely wouldn't look bad. Annie, I get what you're saying. Because it's a high window (bottom sill is 69" from the floor) and we would be going up, I don't think going larger will make me feel too vulnerable. I understand that concern though. I don't like to have glass in my front door because it makes me feel uncomfortable. We considered using rain glass for privacy. I thought the window should match with the glass on top of the shower but perhaps that's not necessary? The Warwick glass is somewhat distorted but it is also expensive. The stone tile we've chosen has some movement. I'm wondering if clear glass would look better and less busy with the tile. However, because of the steam in the shower, clear glass would probably show more water spots. That is the main reason we're considering the patterned glass. We live in the High Desert area of southern California. The bathroom window gets dirty on the outside because of the wind. Would it look bad to use rain glass for the window and clear for the top of the wall? One of the photos of the Warwick glass seems to have been deleted. Here it is again. We did tilt the sill toward the shower to allow any water to run off.

The other issue to be careful of is minimum size for egress as per the building code. They have certain size opening requirements for bedrooms. Second floor bedroom windows must meet the following: 20 inch minimum opening width, 24 inch minimum opening height, 5.7 sq ft net clear opening and the max sill height from the floor is 44 inches. This is the National Building Code which I do believe has been adopted by all of the states as of now.

Since I'm a DIYer on a Budget, I've really searched for stuff I can afford to help me get the stuff thats expensive ( at least to me). Here is an example of it: Backsplash glass tiles: Believe it or not, after seeing stuff at Walker Zanger for about a million dollars, I saw exactly what I wanted at LOWE'S!!! For me they are awesome, subtle beige, green and taupe in polished glass and frosted bits... Shrinkwrapped per 12" square for the generic consumer :) and a steal at only $14- in the tile section... Called "COSMOPOLITAN" glass mosaic in "Neutral" ( wowee), 1x1 "Hecho en China" and kinda thin, but still with lots of depth and glassy reflectivity. Flooring: "Monoceram" of Italy, "New Age", Sand color; 20X20 rectified porcelain. These are flat and precise as can be. I have a 1/8" line between, and each piece looks like random sandstone (Not TRAVERTINE!), with almost no repeat. 7.00/ft at my local tile dealer . The kitchen is now at the cabinet hanging phase and I'm exhausted but it looks good. Floor is in, not backspash yet..
