We have a U-shaped stairwell. On one side, where one would normally put a closet, we put a closet but did not extend it all the way back. Then, on the opposite side of the back wall underneath one half of the landing we framed in a small cubby hole (40" wide, 44" deep, 48" high) that is open to an area off the family room. I wired it for power, light and network and plan to build a computer shelf in it and have a roll out chair. There is also room under there out of sight (under the other half of the landing) for storage of occasional use items like Christmas decorations. It's location is just off the family room so we can use the computer without feeling like we are missing out of the rest of the family activity.

Thanks for the advice guys, I appreciate it... the reason the picture I posted here is 104K is because photobucket resized it... the original is 1.32 MB. It is the same size as photos I've posted successfully to the forum on other computers... the same size as other photos that is why I think the problem is with this computer and the way it is dealing with file size... this is the only computer I have this problem on! I will play with Irfanview. I just realized something... apparently, before on my old machine (and on other computers) they are being converted to a smaller size automatically... here's what I mean Here's a link to a thread I posted over a year ago about a vacuum that a friend restored for me.... the pictures of the machine itself and the guy resoring it for me are all under 300K on the forum itself, but they are still on my memory card and they are all about 1330K on my memory card and I never changed anything about them. Is there some kind of setting where the computer automatically reduces them that I don't know about? The size posted on that thread is definitely sufficient, but it seems now that I have to make them much smaller (in size).... I still have those same pictures on my memory card and they will not post unless I reduce them significanly (I can tell whether or not something is going to post by doing preview mode, so I don't have to submit a new thread thread when I test something) Any help would be adored and appreciated... I think I'm just missing some setting or something.... What program were you using to view these photos before the repairs were done? Zep's method is good but why would you want to move away from the Windows Picture and Fax viewer? It is an excellent way to view your pictures full screen, you can remove or turn any you wish or see them as a slideshow. To copy and paste you can use Windows Explorer. To do that Right click on Start click Explore click the plus sign beside My documents near the top of the screen click the plus sign beside My pictures if you have sub folders in there click on the folder you need click View at the top of the screen click Thumbnails in the drop down menu. Now all the photos in that folder are showing as thumbnails so you can easily see the ones you want. Right click on your choice to copy then paste in the desired location.

OJ -- my 94 year old mother got a similar call. They called late in the evening (I'm sure she was asleep) to ask her about her computer. Then they proceeded to ask her if she had a computer! She said no, she doesn't have one and that was the end of the conversation. The caller ID also said Florida. Actually, my mom does have a computer but it's the rest of the family that uses it when we are there. She doesn't go near it. She knows better than to buy anything unsolicited over the phone. I also worry that calls like this are people calling to see if the house is empty so they can break in. I suppose they could be parked in front of the house with a cell phone number from Florida to circumvent the caller id. What a world we live in.
