Comments (7)2 Amazing ideas!!! The photo op center- pure genius! Especially the naughy and nice meter. Please tell me you did NOT print that by hand on the chalkboard in 30 minutes!! I'll credit the Wonderful Life omission to a brain fart, LOL Although, Ed Asner seems to be in a lot of Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel, and he isn't listed either, LOL The kids here were having a great time playing a "heads up" game that was a .99 app. for the smart phone! Merry Christmas to you and yours, Candy...See MoreAdult party games wanted
Comments (22)celebrity on your back, if it's the same thing i'm thinking, is where ahead of time the host writes name of a celebrity or famous person on index cards. as your guests arrive, you attach a card to their back. during the course of the night, each person gets to ask other guests a question or two until they guess the name on their own back. the only thing i'm having trouble remembering was how that person went "out" and how a winner was declared. but the concept is the names on the cards, posted to the back and the questions. nertz is a card game candy bar game...maybe this one Here is a good game for groups to play. Use the first part of each one to name a candy bar. someone is the moderator or it's written on paper with lines for guesses. 1. Famous swashbuckling trio of old - 3 Muskateers 2. Indian Burial grounds - Mounds 3. Galay - Milky Way 4. Red Planet - Mars Bars 5. Home of movie stars - H ollywood bar 6. Not laughing out loud - Snickers 7. Can't hold on to anything - Butterfingers 8. A famous author - O'Henry 9. A famous former baseball Player - Baby Ruth Famous NYC street - 5th Avenue Twin Leters - M&Ms Superman's other identity - Clark Bar A sweet sign of affection - Kisses Favorite day for working people - Payday What bees make - Bit o' Honey Nut Happiness - Almond Joy Pleasingly Plump - Chunky Two female pronouns - Hershey A feline - Kitkat Single women looking for him - Mr. Goodbar Round flotation devices - Life Savers Sun Explosion - Starburst Candies Bite w/crackling noise - Crunch Determines who wins most games - Skor Bar A Dry Cow - Milk Duds i have no clue about mama elephant maybe who's line is it is to name memorable quotes or lines from movies/songs/books/speaches and people have to guess. outburst is another great game as is scattegories. have fun. maryanne...See MoreChristmas 'game'??
Comments (8)One I just learned; everyone is in a circle and the leader says we're going on a sleigh ride and I'm going to bring a sweater and bells (you tell something you are bringing that starts with the first letters of your first and last name, but don't reveal that to the group). The next person tells 2 things they will bring and the leader tells them whether they can bring them on the ride or not, depending on the letters used for the items they want to bring. Continue around the group and pretty soon people will start to catch on and others won't, continue until all are frustrated or figure it out....See MoreAdult children/Christmas gifts
Comments (95)I am sort of in Aprile's situation, except many long-distance gifts. I send gifts to my nephew and his mother every year and get a box of stale cookies from her in return (I think she even froze some of mine and sent them back. I tasted one and threw the rest away this year--so stale!) He is 27 and calls to thank me but never sends anything, even a card. My neighbor friend gives me cookies even though I tell her I don't like to eat sweets and think I'm diabetic. I usually give her handmade things--crochet towels, dried flowers, whatever cookies I have left that I didn't give away. So it's no big gift exchange. But I froze all the sweets from her and others, maybe will have to give them to other neighbors. I do have a couple friends who send me things I like, and I enjoy planning gifts for them. But I'm thinking about trying to cut down next year. I asked my nephew if I could just send $ this year and he said no, he likes my gifts! Someone else demanded I send shortbread. I shipped 6 boxes altogether and it cost $115 in shipping, and was exhausting. (I did receive a an unexpected knickknack and sent anazon prime gift in time.) Just trying to figure out how to tell people I'm not sending boxes next year. And then there's a neighbor who some years drops off a cranberry loaf early in the morning when I am barely dressed and unprepared to reciprocate and of course mortified. I would not knock on their door in the morning without warning. So how do you say I'm not doing this and please stop (expecting gifts/giving me sweets,...)?...See Morelynn_d
